Anyone tried the ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme IV on a 290?

As the title states, anyone tried it? I have a ref 290 and I'm considering getting one. However, I'm a bit unsure about this back plate cooling system.

Anyone care to impart any pearls of wisdom on me?

I did it last week, was a bit cautious when I opened up the cooler, But it took about an hour and it works fine, I can even overclock though I have not experimented as of yet.

Under full load the heatsink gets hot, but I have zero problems or crashes.

A lot cooler than reference and quieter.

Go For it.

What sort of vrm temperatures are you seeing under load?

I didn't check, it gets hot but causes no issue, i'm at work atm I can check temps and post back tonight.

Sorry for the delayed response.

Ran 3dmark and vrm1 was at approx 80'c and vrm2 about 68'c. Thats without overclock.

EDIT - Ran Heaven benchmark vrm1 97'c vrm2 70'c

Must have slightly better cooling from the heatsink on vrm2.

Just about to install it on mine but I am going to add these

Alpenföhn Passive DRAM / VRAM Chip Coolers

which will come on Friday.

I checked this thread for useful info as I need to use certain heatsinks in certain places.
