24: Live Another Day

I liked the early seasons of 24, but I lost interest at 6 & 7. Never watched 8.

I've like the first 2 episodes of this one. Its a nice change to have a different setting London.

Episode 3 is shown tomorrow at 9pm isn't it? Trying to find the times it is on. Didn't realise only the first two were going to be aired the same time as the US.

It seems ok so far. It's a nice change of scenery, but I feel the plot is a bit poor so far - hopefully I'm wrong though and it improves. Still, it's great to see Jack back nonetheless!

The digital cinematography doesn't look too bad, and on the whole they've managed to replicate the feel of the show as it was with 35mm, but I do miss the look of 35mm film though.

Another good episode. I am enjoying this series far more than the some of the previous ones. Makes a nice change of pace from the other stuff that is on too. I am finding they are hanging on the topical stuff a bit too long - maybe it's to give it time to sink in for some of the folks across the pond.

Ep3 was weak as anything and its falling into the same pitfalls that made me start hating it in the late seasons.

* obvious double crossing
* staff close to someone stupidly powerful being corrupt
* psycho villian

cant they just keep the show grounded without all this bs?!

Immersion breaking fail in ep3 - see if you can spot it :p

What the fact that they go talk to parliament in a random old hall?
or that the womens voice over the tannoy is not the correct one?
or that they were driving a volvo in london :p

All solid spots but I was actually thinking of the mobile phone blatant promotion - in the middle of London and a massive 'Sprint' logo on the phone :p

Think it was in the first episode that she rings the guy in the offices to explain about jack, Look at the screen its still on the HTC one lockscreen! xD

About 29mins in the episode. That breaks immersion!

I was messing about with Netflix/Chromecast the other night and accidentally put ep01 of series 1 of 24 on.

C'cast froze and wouldn't turn off so we ended sat there watching it. My wife loves it! (she's not watched any 24, ever).

Funny to be watching it again 10 years later, I've forgotten a lot that goes on.

Kim is fit as, but well annoying!

Umm what?...you know they could just have their own phones they bring with them...they don't buy new phones each time their in a different country lol.

Not enjoying this season so far and so far is the weakest of the lot.

Never liked Chloe as a character, this new underground emo side just makes things worse.
The drone pilot has somehow managed to get from the US (or somewhere in the middle east) and flown to England, and in a car in London inside 2 hours? Robin Hood Prince of Thieves moment anyone? Getting from the entrance to the platform in Waterloo inside 1 minute is also a joke! And you could never call and get every MP in parliament in a room with an hour's notice!

12 episodes seems really short to have any major twists in it, seeing Jason Donovan's character faking a signature already gave something big away. That guy purposely putting in the wrong ID number on Jack's ID already gave us another big clue, with Chloe finding out immediately, as opposed to him working on the ID in a computer in a corner and nobody finds out. And this is only the 3rd episode! You can tell they are pushing all the plots through and leaving out the tension and giving you all the twists on a plate.

Umm what?
The ENTIRE story is about the fact the President is in the Uk for negotiations to keep their Drone base in the Uk and push it forward, the pilot was in the said Uk base, how are you watching this and not know the entire start of the plot?

The didnt call in "every MP" the clearly said it would be a more closed session for him to make a speech.

ok, that's my bad.

The rest of my points still stand, the way they are showing all the twists especially.

Also, Tanner (whatever), is an irrelevant character anyway. He's just some guy who is taking the fall, whether he takes the fall or not we won't know more about him or need to.

Or Tanner turns out to be working for someone else.

They guy quickly gave Jack a dodgy pass in the hopes of just getting rid of him ( not a double cross as such).

Very rarely have I managed or heard ANYONE manage to call what way the plot will twist in 24 from people, they where always wrong.
Wasnt jack breaking in to go and get to Tanner?

I am usually good at suspension of disbelief and so on;, but despite enjoying the previous seasons, I'm not buying this at all on any level as so many things just break the immersion.

The attack on the convoy was clearly 'welsh quarry' territory and just did not look like the location it was being sold as.
In a twist, the only asian guy turns out to be the one having doubts, rather than the leader of the cell. Nice, but it doesn't work having all the white people be the radicals and besides, the actor used is totally unsuitable for the part.
A radicalized young girl who sleeps around and dresses like a tart; sorry, just isn't logical if she is supposedly a convert to Islam and her hubby if he had any commitment to his religion at all would do worse than just not kiss her.
Housing Projects and Sprint in London may work for a US audience, but for me it just breaks the immersion.
No way would Chloe's group of hackers stay that invisible if they are all together in one location, never mind the fact that they have hardware as good as CTU ever used as an allegedly non governmental organization.
The 'extras' protesting the drones outside the embassy just do not look like the sort of commited, opinionated people who would be adopting that position. Such a demo should look more like the crowd at Glastonbury and less like a footy home stand.
Nothing against London, but the worst part of the show is the city just doesn't work as a backdrop in my opinion; maybe it will go over better with the US audience.
Attractive girl scars herself for life, just to get a bloodstain on her face to distract her pursuer when she has lots of other options (just pointing at Jack and shouting Paedophile would be enough to get him lynched these days). Why!!!! Just a small nick on her palm would have the same effect; it's just poor writing.

I like Keifer and adore Yvonne 'Chuck' Strahovski and I want to like this, but at the moment I'm only sticking with it because others in the house are watching it....
