Does anyone else have a small gap around the edge of the screen and outer case? Also, the vibration strength is pretty poor on this, anyone else find that?

Mine has a small gap on the bottom left edge, it seems fairly widely documented around the net at the moment so either return it or just swap it out a few months down the line with Amazon if you bought it from there under warranty.

Mine arrived today. I am comparing to my previous phone (iPhone 4) which is quite outdated so anything would probably look amazing in comparison, but my view of it is:-

Took it out of the box, looked very 'sharp'. A sleek slab of technology. I think it looks better in person than on the videos I've seen. I don't want to put it in a case, it's too nice to do that. It's the lesser of two evils though. The other being it gets scratched etc.

Screen is very nice (again I am comparing to an iPhone 4!). Very vibrant and colourful. Viewing angles seem fine. Some people have said the viewing is bad in the sun outside. I found it no worse then using my iPhone 4 outside. Not a complaint there from me.

Under normal use, no digitiser is noticeable. Only in direct sunlight and angling it in a funny way, do I see the regular white spots as someone posted in a picture a page or two back. Again, no worse than what I saw on my iphone.

I'm new to Android so a bit lost in it at the moment :p. The phone's screen doesn't turn on when you receive a text message? Only a flashing light? There must be a way, like on the iphone? I'll miss my messages then!

Someone else bought up that point over on XDA. I believe you can use Flashlight to get it to turn on when a message is received. Handcent also has this option attached and as an ex iphone-ist (welcome by the way - it's much nicer over here) you might still welcome the layout it has to offer.

The other option is the DashClock widget add on....but I haven't actually played with this one to get it working yet.

Ohhh also the Hangouts app does this too. But thing is I like the stock SMS app and hate most of the third party ones.

Just came across this on XDA:

You know those noise cancelling headphones we all got, well as you know they have a mic on each earpiece. well if you put them in your ears and then into the phone a little icon comes up in task bar saying "configure accessory". click on that and instead of headset, choose microphone and then if you record video it records in true stereo and with less hiss than handset alone.
Basically, your headset works as if it is that £30 mic attachment.

Neat.

Have a look at DynamicNotifications. It will turn your screen on and have a pulsating message icon when you get a message.

Quite fancy getting a book cover this time around rather than a shell case. The Roxfit Book Case Exec fits the bill from Clove but just wondering if you'd miss text notifications etc with the clover closed? Anyone got one or something similar?

I've got the official Sony case and it has a little groove cut out at the top so you can still see the LED flashing when you get a notification with the cover closed

Like Klark I have the official Sony case which is is similar style to the roxfit case less credit card slot.

The Sony case has small cut outs for the speakers which the LED is located so you still see them come through.

Strange thing today when walking to work. Had music on and runkeeper. I couldn't get the screen to come on, pressing power button did nothing. Music was still playing however... I had to hold down the power and volume to shut it off..

Any ideas?
