Close to 24 Floride Police Officers fired somewhere around 366 rounds at a pair of unarmed men inside a crashed and trapped vehicle, killing them both.

There was so much gun-fire from all directions that they SHOT themselves. One Officer was shot in the leg and a other was gazed in the head.

The gunfire was so loud that it ruptured the eardrums of two other officers.

The gunfire didn't just hit the two men in the car nor just the officers, it also hit neighboring houses, business and other vehicles.

A young 12 year old boy had to dive for cover while a baby was left in a crib close by.

So why is the American Police filled with such gung-ho cowboys who are worst then the criminals?

To be honest, if anyone ever watches ********, you will have seen 100's of other videos showing how bad the American Police are really are from state to state with a small collection of some videos showing some nice Officers.

There was a story a while back about cops opening fire on a guy who was armed with a knife in the middle of New York. The only injuries sustained to anyone was members of the public hit by the rounds from the police officers.

Edit; My mistake, the guy they were shooting at was armed with a gun. Yet not a single member of the public was hit by the armed suspect. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/08/25/nypd-shooting-bystander-victims-hit-by-police-gunfire/

But guns are good remember?

Guns are good. It's the idiots that pull the trigger that are the problem. Civilians are more likely to spend time on the range honing their skills than the average police officer. Even armed response in the UK goes through a refresher course only once a year.

Seems just a tad excessive. You probably have to be trigger happy to be offered a job in a US police force.

I'd be interested to know how many coming through now are ex military.

My father was a cop for 35 years and a police chief for 20 of that. He was the president of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. I am also a former police officer. We both discussed many times the problems with police departments becoming paramilitary forces. He was chief in a military town and had many former military on his department. He fought constantly to keep them from becoming too military like.

Seems odd to wait until now to make a fuss? Is there a more reputable source for what happened?

try LateX'Dog, he seems to know everything that goes on in America, or just posts about it :p

The guy robbed a store and shot a Policeman... Usually that means a death scentance for yourself.

Watch the video of it... Its barbaric almost liek target shooting...
The witness guy saw it all including them trying to surrender.

America.... Hell no.

To be honest, for 24 officers, the number of rounds fired isn't excessive. It's not like they can fire one or two shots, wait to see if the guy is still trying to shoot them, then continue shooting.

The problem, if the witness statements are accurate is that they appear to have shot people who were clearly no threat, and trying to surrender.

They're tested annually, but they'll do a lot more shooting than that. I think it's one day every 4 week rotation is a full training day for GMP AFOs. They'll also have range time in between that.

There are so many videos like this on ********. Just saw one a few days ago of a mentally ill guy who was threatening to kill himself. He stumbled forward and the officer unloaded a full clip at him. He was on the floor after the first shot, yet he kept shooting him a further 10 or so times while the guy was on the floor.
