Best gpu 1080p ?

Looks like I'm going to have to rma my msi r9 270x ... But I have got a bit of extra cash so I'm going to put towards and get a better card , but don't want to buy a card that will be wasted on 1080p , as I'll be upgrading in a couple of years anyway to a full new system .. What would you guys go for ? Amd only please , rest of my spec is i7 930 @ 4ghz with 6 gb (3x2) ram .

Indeed, I didn't notice that one. I'd go with the MSI card actually out of the two as it has one extra years warranty.

Are 290s not a bit overkill for 1080p. Surely this would be more than adequate and save you a fair bit.

No! No such thing as overkill imo, The gpu will just be able to push games for longer the more powerful it is.

I run a 7970 (280x) and people thought that was overkill when it came out for 1080p but now there are games I cannot max comfortably.
