well, many will think I'm mad but after buying an xbox one last November and hating it, tonight I went out and bought a Wii U lol

Where Nintendo are concerned it's never mad. The WiiU is right now coming of age and I'm looking forward to some great announcements at E3! Perhaps the announcement of the new WiiU Zelda?
We can sit and talk about the WiiU's lack of graphical grunt all day, however when you craft games as great looking as Nintendo's none of that matters... just look at Mario Kart!
Which is the Mario game that was unanimously considered awesome? Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy, or Mario World? I get so lost keeping up with the horse flogging, I mean franchise continuation.

Mario 3D World and Mario Kart are the two best Mario games on the console, both are probably worth the cost of the console on their own!

Out of the 3 you mentioned it has to be Mario Galaxy, really is a magical game.
Mario 64 on the N64 is unanimously considered awesome too!

I'd never considered a wii u until I heard about mario kart
it seems I'm not the only one looking on my Facebook feed. Many people are looking at the wii u and in doing so, finding out games such as donkey kong and the like. What's even better is the free game with mario kart

I think it's because Mario Kart looks so damn good, I was so impressed reading the reviews and looking at videos of the game in action I had no choice but to get the console. MarioKart 64 was one of my favourite games of all time, and the new one looks like it could trump it!
That's the slightly frustrating thing. The WiiU has a much better lineup than the PS4 and XB1 combined. It likely won't stay that way, but regardless it is a cracking console to get for the money.

.It does seem to be selling consoles based on a single game, but then I bought a PS2 for GT3, a PS3 for GT5, and a 360 for FM4, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch

Received my Wii U LAN adaptor today in perpetration for MK 8
What's this? Should I get it if I'm going to be playing online a lot?
It's a little box that plugs in to the USB port on your Wii U and allows you to use a wired internet connection. Wired is always better than Wireless especially when it comes to gaming. Paid £12.98 for the official Nintendo unit. Money well spent
Mario Galaxy is awesome, as is Mario World.

Is there any actual proof that the wireless connection on Wii U is particularly laggy? I have pings down to 15ms using wireless on PC so there's nothing really inherently wrong with using WiFi for gaming unless you really think 2-3ms makes a difference.
