Hi all,
I am thinking about buying a third monitor and running games at 5760x1080.
I have a 3gb 780, will this have enough memory to play games like Borderlands 2 and will it be powerful enough, should I buy a second GPU and SLI :D?

Also will a Corsair AX860i be enough to power these two cards?

Thanks for any help

I'd get another one, though maybe it will run at low settings? PSU should be more than enough

Thanks for the reply, do you think the price will drop when the 800 series comes out?

Just realised there is a typo in the thread name :)

I don't think there's any need to buy another 780 for SLI, well not for borderlands 2 anyway.
It's not a very demanding game, have a look here: http://www.techspot.com/review/577-borderlands-2-performance/page4.html

A GTX580 1.5GB card is able to get a respectable 55FPS at 2560 x 1600 with max settings.
I think a 780 3GB will be fine at 5760 x 1080, you may have to lower the AA but nothing too drastic.

I understand this for Borderlands 2 but I have been seeing benchmarks for games like BF4 where the FPS drops very low, 15 FPS area for the minimums and 25 for the averages.

Probably won't buy a second one until the 800 series comes out as I hope they will drop in price a bit.

If memory is what is holding a game back at that res then another 3gb card wont help you much as it doesnt mean you get 6 gigs total but only 3 gigs mirrored by your second card.

It isnt linear like that, a game might need 2GB on one screen, yet still be ok at 3GB on three

Mainly, you aim to have the right amount of Vram for the number of GPU's you have, so a 780 wont be able to run settings that need 6GB, neither will a pair in Sli, if you were thinking of running 3 then it would start to be worth thanking about the big vram version

5760 is quite demanding generally, you will have to turn down quite a few settings to get a steady frame rate on one card... But before splashing out on another 780, get a cheap 1920 screen and try it with what you have... If you really like the three screen, then consider getting a second for SLI

I don't think I would go for three cards as I would have to get a new PSU. I will borrow a monitor from a mate to try out the 3 monitor setup.

Damn, I was expecting boobies ;)
Sorry to disappoint :)!
