After watching this video it kind of wants to make me put a dash cam in the car as you never know what might happen next.

Swearing is in this video just thought i would warn you guys!

Do not post it if it has swearing on a family friendly forum - stulid

Whats happened to you so far?

That looks nothing like a 'cash for crash' accident, not really sure what it is, but the car in front slows down gently and in a controlled enough fashion for the guy behind not hit him. The problem was whoever was following the truck. Perhaps a road rage incident or something?

Nothing has happened to me so far but normally the car behind in an incident gets blamed for such collisions when it's clear it was the car in front that caused a 3 way accident possibly killing someone.

Wouldn't want that sort of blame on myself if i wasn't responsible for it if i'm being honest. The dash cam proves the car in front was reckless for stopping in the fast lane in a dual carriageway for no particular reason.

Whatever the reason to slow down to a complete stop with a truck behind with clear way ahead and no emergency lights, it was done intentionally to cause trouble. Whether the person in front was crashing for cash, crashing because they wanted their renault written off or crashed to prove a point to what they presumed to be tailgater, is kind of irrelevant. They created situation that endangered lives and caused damage to property. Without footage it would be extremely hard to prove this actually happened as described. As for driving too close? Well, the trucker/van driver managed to stop in time without any problems....

My partner has just been the victim of a 'crash for cash' according to our insurance company. Apparently 3 cars used to cause accident. So if you live in the Redditch area beware.......

Ye this is what i'm trying to say really, very hard to prove what happened there without the cam tbh.

Exactly, the fault would therefore seem to lie with the vehicle not featured in the video.

We've no idea why the car in front stopped. He certainly didnt slam his brakes on.

The car infront slows down forcing the middle 'victim' to stop and then someone goes in the back of the victim and claims they were harsh on the brakes.

The person who hits the vehicle in front is 99.9% of the the one who is blamed though, a 'cash for crash' involving the scammer driving into the back of you would seem somewhat foolish. The force of the impact in this particular accident is quite huge, it must have been another goods vehicle or similar who wasn't paying attention to what was happening ahead (Though the car stopping was bizarre, we dont know what happened before the video began rolling).

They are much more likely to try and get you to go into the back of them.

Redditch is a hot bed for it. 2 of our trucks got caught out by 3 car setup.

I sussed what was happening though and already slowed down ready. I would've been No.2 out of three !

Yeah makes sense, person behind would have been caught out by not leaving enough distance.

I think it was crash for cash. They didn't slam on because all they really wanted was the vehicle behind to tap them lightly, in order to get the 5 whiplash claims in etc. Maybe they are intelligent enough to know being rear ended at 50mph to get a claim in probably isn't the best idea:p The irony being that I bet they got some proper whiplash from the accident in that video :D

You don't pick the outside lane of a dual carriageway if thats what you want, you are far more guaranteed the outcome you want if you use a roundabout or something.

Think I saw this vid over the weekend. yeah.... not really sure what the blue car upfront is doing and from the impact it does seem light another large vehicle went into the back of the cam car. want to find out the out come and what happens to the blue car driver, clearly something was up/a miss as you just don't do that on a dual carriageway for no good reason. Unfortunate that the last vehicle wasn't able to stop intime, but really only has him/her self to blame from not leaving enough room :(

I want one just for all the people who try and chance it. 3 time on my way home from the beach on sunday I had cars blindly pulling out from side streets onto the main road infront of me, causing me to either swerve quite drastically or apply heavy braking until I saw they had stopped so I carry on. Like the last was a woman in a red astra. at junction to join main road (going left) and she doesn't even look my way once o.O ?!
