Interstellar -- Trailer (Spoilers!)

Yeah I watched this and I dunno.... I love my sci-fi but this trailer I just don't seem to click with it.
I'm sure as more is released it will appeal to me more.

If you know computer games, the next civilisation is coming out this year and it shares the same theme of earths resources running out and the need to explore. The trailer for that makes this film look meh.

I thought similar. From what I'd read previously about the plot (humans discovering a wormhole and sending a team through it) I got the impression that this was going to be a sort of action packed sci-fi adventure film. But that trailer gives a very different impression.

Saw the trailer when I went for Godzilla... gave me an impression of Contact meets "Inevitable end of the world if we don't go beyond" movie.

Will still watch it, just need to know when it's released!

Well, Nolan usually can't put a foot wrong....and I have a feeling this trailer isn't giving much away. But I agree, it left me feeling very "meh" :(

1) human screw planet up..
2) conveniently discover wormhole
3) they go through it
4) EVE online. (jove for me plz)

I don't see why Holywood even bothers with these pseudo save planet type movies.

Trailer didn't really give any idea as to the movie :S and didn't really inspire me to want to watch it or put me off was just meh.

Warp drive active.

Well I will look forward to it but I did think this is going to be a stupid movie when I heard that they ran out of food, how does one run out food.

you do know that we all ready are running out of food, given the growth of the human pop. modern farming can't keep up, some reports i've read in farming press say we will have moved away from animal protein in the next 20 years.

the thing is, the US will never run out of food as it has by far the largest amount of arable land in the world and i don't imagine them sharing it if things get bad!

Most if not all cinema people have been telling the studios to sort themselves out in the state trailers have gotten into where they basically show all the best sequences, lines characters and the film is laid out in one long trailer.

Now for a change we get a studio that does what its supposed to do, keep you guessing, and people are like.."meh...im confused".

You know theirs a global wheat shortage and its getting worse from over farmed lands and the US is going through some extreme weather cycles that wiped most of their crops out.

Its perfectly believable that the world is changing that will spoil future crops as its already happening.

true but they would still have the available land further north - anyway, its academic as long as the film is good!

No one, well i can only speak for myself, is confused, its just a story that has been done to death, so i hope they have a unique spin on it that doesn't make me face palm.

Whilst science fiction lets us explore these questions of what could happen in this scenario they often bog them down in "badly" acted false, sentimental, one dimensional, relationships that frankly i don't want to get involved in because i have enough of that in real life. (lol)

Someone compared it to Contact, which i think "at the moment" looks very accurate.

I don't want explosions and lasers but i dont want a fake heartrendingly cheesy, oh no should i chose my family or my species "what would you do?" in 144 minutes.

All that aside I've seen some great stuff lately, Her for example a film which got all the above in the right balance.

Sorry i went off on one, very little is known about the film, im just a glass is half empty kind of guy. :p
