BMW and M Power Owners

Any particular indication setting out which is which? I wasn't aware of there being updated ones.

I have the updated MV4s on the rear and they have a large domed band (1-2 inches wide) moulded into the inside edge of the barrel. Its not visible from the outside, presume the MV3s will be similar.

Like the F10 Fox, very surprised you opted for the diesel (but understand the reason), I can't help but wonder if you'll eventually chop it in for that elusive spec petrol variant when (or, indeed if ever) you actually found one?

I loved my brother in laws old (F10) 525d but you could always feel it was a diesel if not necessarily hear that it was.

None the less, enjoy it & I look forward to a nice photo rich thread on it. :)

Liking the F10 Fox, it's a great beast (especially the Touring), although I now have a chest infection from the dirty derv fumes :p

Get my M135 back next week (hopefully), just praying it looks like new and washing the rest of the car was done properly and not with a scouring sponge!

Wow, Fox bought a new car

Regarding the wheels, personally I think they look good, but if you want to change them you could just wait until the new tyres are worn out and then replace the wheels at the same time? (How long will this take roughly?)

Also what are you going to actually do with the E39? I totally get why you want to keep it, but I'm curious as to what you'll use it for, and what you'll use the F10 for, and when these usage patterns may cross over. :)

It's a shame you're keeping it, I'd have been tempted to make an offer haha.

I'm pleasantly surprised how cheap this job is to do in the E39. Been quoted £115 by a well regarded specialist.

It's a really easy job, unless you're allergic to spanners. It'll be a case of setting aside a Saturday morning, dismantling any bits in the way (vac hoses, cables/connectors etc) and unbolting the rocker cover. Fitting is reverse of removal making sure you use any gasket sealant where required, and torquing the nuts up in the right order.

There's pretty much nothing in the way on a BMW. Replace the bolts with new ones though and use extreme care when tightening as they snap VERY easily.

My boss just received his F31 335D M Sport Xdrive tourer today. After being in it for the last hour, all I can say is, what a car!

Love it, he can't put his foot down in it yet due to breaking the engine in, but it seems like a nice solid place to be.

I keep looking at the F30 335D as fully spec'd the discounts on it through drive the deal make it a very tempting price.

I believe he went through Drive the Deal too, or got a figure from them and then went to the dealers to get him the same price and deal.

His isn't fully specified though, I believe he's got Pro nav, and visibility pack to give him most of the desired bits (not sure if heated seats are optional or standard on his but he does have that too). I managed to convince him initially that Estoril Blue and the cream interior would look good, but he thought it might look too brash and opted for the standard metallic grey with black interior.

Either way, it's a fantastic car.

Followed a M135i coming out of work car park the other day. I must admit it had quite a nice burble when the owner started it up and a little 'burp' when shifting (bit like DSG).

Hugely expensive, as that advert demonstrates. That one is cheaper than usual too on account of its bizarre spec - no Xenons, no seat upgrades, no sports auto transmission but it has rear climate and rear entertainment etc.

Another niggle has appeared on my E90, the headlight washers don't seem to retract meaning they can only be used once, anyone know if this is a common fault and should I be claiming on warranty to get it fixed? (£100 excess)

Chauffeur car perhaps?

Yup, it's worthless and immaculate, I love it, I'll have it for ever. No reason not to really as it's not even expensive to insure with multicar policies etc. The E39 is still, IMHO, the best car BMW ever made and I'm really pleased I've got a nice one. I think its like you and that classic Mini :D

In 20 years time somebody with a beard might find it interesting.

My dad had two E39's, fantastic car and if you have it immaculate no point giving it away as a bargain to someone else when you have spent thousands of pounds and put a lot of elbow grease on making sure it's well kept.

I would hate to give a car like that away to know it's going to get abused eventually down the line by people who dont appreciate good cars.

You happen to have any pics of it i can see?

Fantastic buy Fox, nice to find one with the dynamic too! Under 20k for that mileage sounds great! Approved used?

And a quick review of the BMW online would be good too, worth the £120 a year?
