Agree with Matt, I've always liked the look of KFA2's cards particularly their white models but the price has always been a little steep for their OC models although their warranty is UK based which is a massive bonus.

Edit: Looks like I'm completely wrong now, KFA2's pricing is very good, their HoF model is one of the best clockers and isn't that much more than standard ones

Good price!! But why has it taken until now? This should be its 24/7 price imo. :)

Because no one wants to make very low single digit margins, resellers need to make a living.

Plus exchange rates in recent weeks have greatly improved which of course helps when the pounds strengthens against the USD. But its still not enough to make this a 24/7 price!

I think he was having a go at how much it costs you to buy in, not your markup though I could be wrong!

This.

To confirm what Bru said below. I was talking about the price of 770's in general when compared to 7970's/280X's.

He was just commenting on the general price of the Nvidia 770 cards I think, although I do agree that its not really a reflection on Gibbo's pricing just the general state of the market.

We all know the green cards are normally slightly dearer than the red equivalents, but I do agree with matt that the 770 should be that bit cheaper than they are at the moment.

Then again it would be nice if everything was cheaper, but the world doesn't work like that.

Considering this but thought i'd ask the opinions of those are probably more knowledgeable than I.

I'm currently running a fairly old ish system:
AMD Phenom X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz
8GB Ram
GTX 580

I've been a little underwhelmed with the 580's performance for a while now but realistic i won't be able to afford the build I want until later on in the year/early 2015.

From my own research this card looks like a good contender and well priced to push my framerates back up and keep my happy until I'm in a position to do a complete new build.

I've read before though that some older CPU's can potentially throttle newer GPU's. Would this be an issue at all?
Thanks

You CPU should be fine, you will see an improvement for sure. :)

CPU's are a bottleneck on the flagship GPU's especially when running multi-GPU configurations.

Trying to resist these sweet deals. :-(

Edit: sorry to seem off topic; but would this be a worthy upgrade (@ 1200p) if I sell my HIS 7950?

In a few games there will be a reasonably nice boost, but overall it'll be too small a jump in performance to make it a sensible upgrade imo. I would aim higher (780 / 290).

Recent drivers will have moved performance on beyond the numbers this link provides, but it's still a worthwhile comparison tool to use :

I went from a 5770 to a 6870 with my AMD 940 CPU. Then I got an intel 2500k i5 and my 6870 frame rates jumped right up (I would guess 10% ish). Bottle necking is always relative and affects minimum Fps more than anything. I say get it but expect the minimums to be similar.

A stock Phenom II X4 965's going to be quite a bottleneck on a 770 to be perfectly honest, obviously depends on game, but it's not a great combination by any stretch. Wes had a 7970 and a Phenom II X4 at 4GHZ and has mentioned his disdain.

Thanks for the advice :) I just can't stop the desire to buy all the deals!
