looking directly at the stats it doese show that 27725 Romanians have been arrested over a 5 year period the majority for "other crimes" (ie not rape, murder, burglary....)

That's 27,725 arrests of Romanian nationals not 27,725 Romanians arrested. Since a single Romanian can be arrested multiple times it does not follow that 27,725 Romanians were arrested.

That's what I thought. Thanks for answering my question.

So, all this excitement about UKIP winning EU positions really doesn't amount to a great deal because firstly, they can't be arsed to vote, and secondly, we'll still be in the Eu anyway.

Thats about it,

Except when they do bother to show up and vote they are just as likely to vote against the UK's interest as support us.

If they do get significant support it will start to have an impact on the polices of other parties. This is already the case with all three major parties hardening their stance on immigration for example. That is the real impact of voting for fringe or single issue parties.

Wonderful! Down with cheap phone calls and standardised mobile phone chargers!!

Hmm OK, I understand what you're saying. They're going to have to work hard, still.

Ops, you are right. Sorry for not wording it correctly. :( (again i have admitted when i was wrong, am i ill:p)

Yes, but I'm asking you whether the EU elections have any bearing on in and out?!

No, they have none at all, except in as much as they pressure parties likely to run the country into a position on it.

Which is why I find the campaigns of the Lib Dems, UKIP and the Tories so ridiculous. Labour, of course, avoid mentioning what they think about Europe by simply not bothering to discuss Europe in their campaign altogether.

It really is quite frustrating how little the EU election debate has actually discussed anything to do with what the MEP's elected actually do.

here you are.

the telegraph have plowed through the stats and given a observation

But feel free to dig through the stats and make your own decision.

That first link was what I was after, thanks.

This is the issue with stats, people need to fully understand what is being said and what can't be concluded with the information available.

Do you guys honestly think we will get out of the EU?..I hope we do tbh.

Its not really relevant to the EU vote, but i will answer the question.

In the past i have gone from very pro EU, to anti EU but at the moment i am sitting on the fence leaning towards stat in.

Hmm OK, I understand what you're saying. They're going to have to work hard, still.

They just have to keep winning votes, the work they do at the EU is fairly immaterial. By being popular they have effectively forced the Conservatives to offer a referendum which in turn has forced the Lib Dems and Labour to suggest the possibility.

Combined with increasing Eurosceptic growth across the EU and you will end up with more nations causing issues within the EU.

So true, in this case it was just a miss wording but it is easy to draw or imply the wrong conclusion from stats. This is why you should always show your source so others can verify your findings.

Well I was around when teddy lied and took us in to the common market, and I hope I see the EU fail before I die.

We was so much better off before. I mean if you want to use a shovel on site now you have to pass a test!?

And? If the UK was THAT bothered by it they would bypass the rule and add an amendment, which they can do.

I forgot about the money they make when people take these tests. Health and Safety?

"The EU was forced to backtrack after its scientists claimed there was no proof drinking water helped with dehydration"

"In a win for weirdly shaped vegetables across Europe, the majority of EU states voted to repeal laws which banned "free of abnormal curvature" in cucumbers and bananas three years ago"

"The reported directive: This summer it was reported that sufferers of diabetes across the EU may face driving bans as part of a new directive"
It's not currently being enforced, but it is real

I could go on all day.
