MY Dad, when Partridge had his first chat show.
He thought he was an awful chat show host and didn't know how he got a job.
I had to explain.

I must admit though that until last year I didn't know Johnny Vegas was a character.

I was watching a TV prog about comedians and it said Johnny Vegas is a character dreamed up by blah blah balh,
The thing is I've never seen him out of character.

I'm not liking the new season of Derek as much, had to turn the last one off half way through. I'll go back to listening to the pod casts I think. It was better when Karl was in it. I wonder why he left?

That's a shame, I thought he did a decent job on the first series. I did see a tweet from Ricky that said "keep watching" when a fan asked if karl was really gone. So I guess he might make another appearance.

Just not liking the show that much this season. Seems to be more of the same, with less comedy and now less Karl.

I was completely gutted to see Karl leave but still like Derek although they are perpetually tugging on your heart strings this time (i.e. five minutes focused on Derek's face as he tears up with sad music). I never realised he was so nervous.

Michael Pennington appeared in the popular 90's TV show "win lose or draw" as contestant.
It was his first TV appearance and the only one as himself.

My point was that Johnny Vegas isn't a made up character like say, Alan Partridge. The name is just something to make him more marketable. I wouldn't say Martin Sheen was a character just because he chose to change his name.

Unless of course Johnny Vegas infact has a completely different personality to Michael Pennington. (I aint researched this)

If Johnny Vegas is a character then the actor playing him is one of the best in the world. Pretty sure it's just a stage name and like all comedians he exaggerates parts of his own personality for comedic effect.
