My first cruise review - Liberty of the Seas

Generally the UK pricing is useless. Best place to buy cruises is from the US - Vacations2Go generally beat any price I've ever found.

Lol! Right you are, nvm then, use the above site if you want to book a cruise.

Apologies - reading my (abrupt) post back it comes across a bit sharp. Wasn't the intention and not meaning to piddle on your bonfire, just a genuine hint for those looking to get away.

Another hint - see if the Jr suites are on offer. You get double cruise points meaning getting to Diamond (where the booze is free) is a lot quicker, and you get other suite perks. Sometimes the deals work out better than taking two cruises. We just got back from a 14 night Caribbean/Transatlantic on the Adventure, and for us (two adults, two kids) it worked out cheaper to have a suite than two balconies (for broadly about the same actual floor space).

Great post glad you enjoyed it however personally I couldn't think of anything worse, your pics confirm what I fear about cruises, don't you get bored after a day? doesn't it feel claustrophobic?

indeed, no offense but the pics and description just highly how horrific cruises must be.

Put me on a 30ft sailing boat around the Greek islands anytime!

I am taking the family on the MSC Splendida next Sunday. Will be my 8th Cruise I think. It is the only way to have a true holiday to relax.

Wake up each morning at a new location, high quality accommodation and entertainment. Unlimited drinks and food... fantastico!

Or you could save your money and go to butlins!

Well it is the butlins version of foreign travel from the OPs post... ;)

It is a shame if that is your take away from it, because trust me it is nothing of the sort. I've seen better entertainment on ships than I have seen at the west end.

The best way I have found to describe a cruise is that it is like putting wheels on a 5-star hotel and having it take you on a couch tour.

You are waking up in a 5-star hotel at a different location every morning.

Cruise ships seem so ugly, like a floating multi-storey car park. I don't mind going on a ship like the QM2, but most of them look horrid!

Most interesting itinerary: Far East Princess one. Pricey though once you factor in flights.
Best ship: Oasis, but transatlantic cruises suck (hence the price)
Best balance: Adventure out of Southampton, no flight costs, and interesting itinerary.

Just imo.

Heading out for another cheap cruise next weekend :D

Our company hired the Liberty of the seas out for a week about a year ago - Just our company and staff

I was working 12 hours shifts with colleagues but free bars, activities and food were awesome

Work was hard and tiring but given the chance I would 100% do it again

Blown away by the sheer scale of that thing, it is insane! I mean I guess it had to be to house all that stuff but until I see the pictures I didn't realise just how much is on there. It is literally a floating town, it has everything anyone could ever need and never have to get off.

I went for a sports massage a few years back and the guy doing it said he use to work on the cruise ships and recommended it, he loved it. Got to travel around, pay wasn't to bad, see so many things and met so many people and had everything he needed right there. Now I wish I looked at it more seriously would be so fun (for a while at least).

This was more or less my thoughts. I was on the Oasis last year, nice ship but full of kids.

do some reading on the Oasis, its HUGE.

I am doing the Adventure of the Seas from Southampton on the 17th of Aug. Already done a MSC Splendida cruise in May this year. I got two kids, 5yo and 3yo - RC are much better for that.

Not been on a RC ship since about September 2001 though so I hope it is as good as I remember.

Old people holidays....

Worked for the competition and I couldn't think of anything worse... When we went on them I just thought its a floating coffin.

Still RC are better than the lot I worked for from what I've seen and whoever is looking at a Princess cruise, don't bother.

Just come back from a Baltic's cruse with RC, that was on the Adventure, main dining room menu was poor and the food even worse, hope they change the head chef soon.

who would have thought I would get this on OCUK, I am off on Independence of the Seas late august from Southampton,

this is just perfect, thank you
