£3000 PC - Music Production & Gaming

Depends what software the OP uses? Can drive numerous 4K displays though (multiple GPUs), has serious CPU grunt and PCIe SSDs so certainly has the power the OP needs. Dual boot should allow for gaming.

Right tool for the right job and all that. What Smilertoo suggested has some merit. The worlds moved on from just saying 'LOL Apple'

I'm using Ableton Live Suite 9 and sticking with Windows for the gaming side of things and also for plugin compatibility.

Fair play. I do video editing and would love a new Mac Pro.

You could always whack Windows on it. #DevilsAdvocate

Yeah the Mac Pro is very tempting but I'm just too used to Windows to change at this point. And plugin support is a biggie at this moment in time. I remember seeing a video on The Verge with the Mac Pro chomping through 4K Content for fun during a video editing reel, so it's definitely a beast of a machine.

Too late or can either myself or Doomedspeed have ago?

If you have any build recommendations to spec please post it, I haven't ordered it yet and may not for a few weeks.

Like I said, whack Windows on there and dual boot. That way you can still find out why OS X and Logic Pro X will turn you quickly to the dark side.

Another vote here for Mac/Logic Pro. Used a variety of DAWs including Pro Tools when I was at uni back in the day and always kept coming back to Logic.
