Hi My motherboard is an Azus Sabertooth P67 which has run flawlessly untill i reformatted my Pc yesterday.
After reformatting i was in the bios and as in the "Flash utility part of the Bios" i then went to browse through the drive via the flash utility and had only clicked the drive "F" not any files or anything as to start the flashing process, but once i selected the drive it just seemed to hang there for 5 mins and when i clicked exit noting at all would happen yet i could move the cursor on the bios screen ok , but i was forced to shut the pc down while in the bios and i am pretty sure now that i have corrupted the bios ,, as now the pc restarts normally except like 1 flashing _ in the top left of the windows booting screen , BUT if i press delete i am unable to get into the bios at all.
If my bios is corrupted and i then go ahead and press my clear Cmos button the board is there a pretty good chance my board will be wiped and not be able to boot maybee ??

Try a clear cmos failing that asus have a bios flash button on the board, insert usb drive with image into the slot next to the button, push and hold button while turning on and wait for it to do its thing

Thanks for the fast reply . i just restarted it a few times there and every time i press either F8 or Del instead of loading up the bios ,, it loads up Windows boot manager.

BTW to clear the CMOS do i just hold the button in for like 10 secs with the power disconnected , or do i have to remove a battery inside as well ?

Just went to look for that switch on the MB , when realized i had got PC's messed up and the PC with the problem has an Azus Sabretooth P67 motherboard , how would i recover / flash the bios on that board if following a Cmos reset i cannot get into the Bios ?

if the bios is truly borked then the only way is to physically pull out (they are removable on asus) the bios chip and order a pre flashed bios chip with latest bios on it off fleabay and plug the new one back in

take care not to bend the bios chips pins when removing/installing it

the chips usually cost a tenner
