Change your Ebay passwords, security breach.

Does anyone else find shocking that there's absolutely zero mention of this on the eBay site?

yea ebay is horrible, it took me about 5 minutes of head scratching to locate the page that allows a password change.

I never had an email from ebay , no message on longing in etc so thanks for the heads up!

I don't believe that eBay's recommendation of changing password sufficiently mitigates the risk of the loss of this data.

I'm moving house and also changing my date of birth. That'll flummox these pesky fraudsters.

I think people are slightly missing the point, if they have just gone public the quickest way to get the word out is via social media/the news.

There is no way they are going to be able to send hundreds of millions of emails in minutes. I am a bit shocked they aren't forcing a change to users when logging in though.

About time eBay. I informed them back in February that their database was hacked and spent some time on the phone with their security team going over it.

I can't believe 3 months on they get around to informing customers to change their passwords.

I think you missed the point... you can automate email, you can automate notifications at login to prompt password change.

Going to tell my friends and family to stay away from that site.

Nevah, I have had the same password since the 90's and not changing it. It was annoying enough when Yahoo forced me to change last year because they now require a capital letter and a number in the password >.>

What the hell was wrong with cocacola? I already changed it back in '98 when they decided pepsi was too short

My yahoo account has neither of these and I can use it just fine?
