My wife votes for whoever she wants - she wants to vote UKIP (even MORE than I do). At the last general election I voted Conservative and my wife voted UKIP.

Neither of us would dream of voting for the Greens because of their links to fascism.

It worries me that around here, people don't like M. Thatcher due to her mining closures and toughness against Unions. Now we have a good amount of houses putting up signs and stickers saying "I'm Voting UKIP".

Obviously immigration sound byte is beating people's sense of reading their policies of extreme Torism/Thatcherism/Right Wing.

Neither of us would dream of voting for the Greens because of their links to fascism.

Irony?

So if anyone would grace me an answer. Feel free to use this as a soap box. Do you think that your wake up message will be heard and reacted to?

Will you also be voting UK IP at the next general election or will you wait till manifestos are printed and make an informed choice later?

Yes i think a good result for UKIP will really give the other 3 a kick up the back side.

I'll either be voting UKIP or Conservative in the general election. I'll decide closer to the time and see where both parties stand.

Well, knowing my wife within the context of our strong relationship, i suspect she will be voting Green as well, but if she wanted to go left of field and vote any other way thats her decision. I would never dare speak for her; its not my decision to make. God Bless Democracy.

I'm going to cry. Someone has ordered a postal vote on my behalf, and I expect this means that I won't be able to vote :( laugh it up

That's outrageous mate, not sure what you can do but you have my honest sympathies. Not matter what you support everybody in the country has a right to vote

EDIT - Just saw the update, glad you could sort it out :)

I went to vote eary this morning before work... so was there at 7am... ( peeing it down by the way ) big crowd of people,at least 40 waiting..... and this was a nice leafy estate of private houses in a conservative town ( macclesfield ).

Of course we started talking outside as you do.... seems we were ALL voting UKIP. In fact people were saying they normally dont vote in these elections but due to the media storm and the seemingly felt annoyance at being told who to NOT vote for the exact opposite has happened and they were, like me, actually making a POINT of voting for them.

The general public seem to want a referendum on europe and none of the big parties are even listening. Well now its time to see how bad its going to hurt them i guess.

There's a reason why we shouldn't have a referendum when people's opinion can be swayed by what the media prints / say, rather than people making an informed decision as to why they should or shouldn't vote for a particular party.

That's it, the majority of the public have no idea what being in the EU actually means, and what the implications are should we leave. I'll even put my hands up and say I honestly don't know what would be best, it isn't a subject I am knowledgable about.

Doesn't mean we should not have one, it means that need to get their messages across better.

If that was the case then no one would have been voting UKIP today. the BBC, Daily Mail and every other newspaper have made a asserted campaign of smear which has backfired in a spectacular fashion. I bet good money there will be loads of head scratching this weekend in the Tory, Labour, Libdem and newspaper offices.

I wish i was a fly on the wall in the upcoming meetings amongst those lot! :D

It's hard to get messages across better when these days, it's all about negative politics. It's absolutely bonkers and just fuels the decreasing trust we have for the political class.

We need a tyrant, an absolute ruler to make everyone realise how democracy should be done. I need to start my domination plan soon...
