Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Every now and then, there are about 12 games on my list I can not wait for. Every time in the past, only 2-3 at most have turned out decent.

it's happened again for late 2014, early to mid 2015. Must be 12-15 games I'm quite excited for. This being one of them.

Please, please, have something like a 50% success rate at least. If 10 of them end up good I'll be over the moon.
So far, seen nothing on this, or others to suggest they will end up terrible so here's to hoping that remains to be the case.

E3 could be good this year if we get a lot more details on many of these games

This is basically everything that is wrong with license gaming. I can only assume this is being made by people who have never seen or read LOTR and aimed at people who actively hate LOTR.

You play Telion, a ranger who is revived from death and becomes half ringwraith (alarm bell 1) and decides to become Middle Earth's first Superhero (alarm bell 2) you can upgrade your superhero abilities which include teleportation and mind control (all this in a world notoriously short on magic, alarm bell 3). Splice in some ripped off gameplay from Batman and Assassin's Creed, and bingo you have a cash in licensed game.

Sad thing is if they had the balls to just make their own fantasy game it could have been good. Instead they've chosen to **** over someone else's world and make this abomination. And I thought LOTR games couldn't get worst than The Third Age :(

It's maybe easy for me to say as I have no interest in LOTR franchise at all - but it doesn't really look to have any real links to LOTR so just think of it as a stand-alone fantasy game instead. Orcs are in pretty much every fantasy, as are wraiths and likely whatever other enemies are in this game.

It's always crap when licenses are used to generate interest but at the same time, it looks like that's all it is and that it has very little to do with the franchise at all.

But as I say, maybe being a fan of it makes that harder to accept. Kind of like how I feel about Transformers movies when people say - just think of it as random giant robots fighting...I can't.

as far as im aware, they are ahead of schedule and releasing on the 30th of september instead of the 7th october!

Both a well known Rainforest and Game are showing the 3rd of october, Gamestop is showing the 7th of october and Shopto only has the PC version available for download and that is showing 10th October where as the wiki is showing it at the 30th of September.

So going from this it is out sometime in the next Month and a bit....

Just to interrupt mid sentence... (don't you hate those people)... I'm pretty sure you can say Amazon in relation to games. Even if you're not, I'm also pretty sure that hinting or disguised hinting is just as banned as saying the actual store anyways ;) :D

Please... carry on.... ;)

Yeah, I heard ages ago that the release was brought forward, but all the stores here (Oz) are also pretty sure it's the 8th.

It doesn't really bother me either way, hopefully I'll still be stuck to Destiny, and this will give me an extra week to play before I get addicted to this instead!!

Bloody hell I'd almost forgotten about this. Is it really out in less than a month? Unless I just haven't been looking in the right places there's not been much shouting about it going on, or has there?
