Wolfenstein: The new order breaks 2gb

Those graphs concern me, no SLi/Crossfire support??

And Matt, even I'm not enough of an AMD fan to ignore that the 6GB guys are the master race ;) value for money on the other hand.....:D

2560x1600 with "Ultra" settings? Well... yeah i expect it would fail on 2Gb cards

So it would seem this game is not playable on a gtx770 2gb at 1200p max details due to vram limitations. There's been a few arguments around 2gb cards and them being enough but it would seem in this game it's not.

Don't you mean "1600p"?

I would be EXTREMELY surprised if 2Gb wasn't enough for 1920x1080. So much so i would call BS straight up.

I don't know what is physically using it because the textures don't look that high res.

This is one of the drawbacks to increasing VRAM on new card designs, lazy developers get sloppy because they know they don't have to optimise properly for new cards and users of old cards suffer.

To be honest I have my reservations about the legitimacy of the review, not trying to be an apologist but they only told us that the 770 died at ultra and the 280X was fine, they didn't give any numbers. If the 280X was dipping to 45FPS at high settings then it would surely have been dipping lower at ultra? If one card fails to run at ultra and the other gets laggy then surely neither card is actually running the game at ultra so it's a mute point.
