Pushing 8320 overclock

Exactly the point i was trying to make in post #6.

The M5A97 EVO R2 is under £70 at many retailers and can get a reasonable overclock on most AMD CPUs. Even the earlier versions released during the time of the Phenom II X6 could get one to 4GHZ.

However,if I was the OP I would dial down the overclock and just enjoy their newish system.

You don't always have to go intel to get it right, but that depends on what you want from your system and how much you are willing to spend. If money is no object then you wouldn't go AMD with this era.

I failed (:o) and forgot to post the link when i said "Here's another case of skimping on the motherboard. Exactly the point i was trying to make in post #6." This thread here.

Yeah a choice like that is extremely poor and an example of what not to do when buying a rig to 'overclock'.

If they were just cheap components thrown together for a budget rig it wouldn't be the end of the world but hey ho! :)
