Rroff has by his own admission posted videos that were "tangible" at best towards people cheating, people clearly have found issue with that.

As for a "TS witch hunt" tbh we have better things to talk about in the evenings.

There is a difference between finding issue with that - which I can understand in the context of the first video as I said it was a bit rash and not inline with my normal approach - and the vitriol, childish **** taking and putting words in my mouth that some resorted to.

On another note this game never seems to cease finding new ways to break heres a clip from just now playing on a normal server and randomly it decides to not show hit markers :S https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjVsCU7HGD8 (slowed down so you can see the lack of them). Joking aside, nobody is out to 'get' you or anything Rroff, just peoples opinions on what you're saying. For what it's worth, in that one video on Lockers you posted, I thought the guy seemed to snap to targets and shoot them, something unnatural about it, but that is probably just me, I'm not used to seeing quality like that

Problem with the BF4 spec mode it runs at a very low update rate - even less than the game and interpolates between updates clientside which means that quick movements look like a snap to target - it is also typical behavior of an aimbot but in the context of that video its impossible to tell if it is or isn't - another way to tell if a person is possibly cheating is when they perfectly aquire the target then ADS up but again on its own its not conclusive (unless they are full on snapping to the head every time) - but some people will even go as far as putting a small dot on the center of their monitor so as to be able to aquire targets faster and more accurately.

So you've basically got no chance of telling whether the guy is using an aimbot (that's what my first guess is anyway) but because you said that about spec mode update rate, it could be that. It's really hard to tell.

Yeah funny last night, all this talk of cheats and first server we joined had at the very least 3 of them........

- 1 guy, the whole server was complaining about and he got me a couple of times which just didn't feel right
- another guy one shotted both me and ramarri with the UMP, at the same time..... literally an insta death
- guy on our team using a cheat too, was 34-1 within 10 min where as everyone else had barely reached 10 kills

And they were all beginner noobs too.........

Few others that were a bit suspicious.

Think someone was even complaining about one of the ocuk guys cheating, jamor iirc lol.

Theres a whole world of difference between someone using an aimbot at "100%" and someone using it in low fov/smooth mode to try and disguise they are using it - but theres still the signatures of it there if you know what to look for as I said amongst other things and that video illustrates it someone using software to aim for them doesn't tend to use small strafe movements to fine tune their aim the same way as a legit player - much harder to prove however. Goes beyond just aimbotting theres also wallhacks, ESP (wallhack essentially but shows extra info) and some of the cheats for BF4 have even managed to work out how to exploit some of the bugs to do things like teleport/superjump that your not supposed to be able to :S

(The video I posted btw is from a much longer video of the same person with much more obvious cheating and they pretty much admit it anyhow later but it was that first section that made my mind up to continue watching them a bit longer to see if they were cheating or not - most other players I'd have watched about that much and decided they were probably legit).

EDIT: Not going to link to cheats directly but search on youtube for something like "bf4 smooth aim bot" and you'll find the promotional material for the cheat makers themselves with demonstrations :|

Anyone tried out the jet rear chase cam in CTE yet? Jumped into CTE yesterday to find that all my controls had been reset

They've separated your BF4 profile and your CTE profile now. Should have been from the start tbh imo. Now you can mess with your CTE settings without changing your base game settings.

Just copy your BF4 profile from the BF4 folder to the CTE folder to get your settings/binds back.

The FOV settings have changed though.... You will have to change them manually.

How to get your old FOV back
1) Go here: http://www.rjdown.co.uk/projects/bfbc2/fovcalculator.php [rjdown.co.uk]
2) Set the screen width to 4
3) Set the screen height to 3
4) Put in your old BF4 FOV
5) Put the number it spits out into BF4 CTE.
6) ???
7) PROFIT!

EDIT: Given the nature of the replies its quite likely a certain amount of collaboration has gone on.

Has it ever occurred to you that given the nature of the replies, it's quite likely everybody all thinks your talking utter ****** hence the replies are all fairly similar.

I haven't been on TS since this 'debate' began but frankly I'd be disappointed if somebody posted on here siding with me/anybody else simply because they've been told to. People are able to think for themselves.

As per my post a couple of months back on here I used to work on one of the anti-cheat programs used by some quake 3 leagues (due to my knowledge of the q3 engine) before punkbuster came along. Which involved doing stuff like dissecting the OGC source to see how it operated.

I did notice this today - movement felt a bit weird but i love the instant feedback you get while shooting. Makes the SCAR allot more forgiving in my opinion cause you don't need to shoot as many bullets to get confirmation that you've dropped someone.

Have to agree with lvlcap, the standard of players in the CTE seems allot high to me.

Have DICE revealed when they are going to start dropping in the changes to BF4 non CTE?

Do grenades throw properly in CTE? getting quite annoyed with it at the moment playing normal where you can throw a grenade on the fly and it will actually be thrown using your position and view angles about 300ms later even taking into account any possible delay from the throwing action/animation. (Not sure if its more of a problem with very low pings as the latest update doesn't seem to rollback properly for people with <20ms latency).
