Awesome love the franchise.
I would guess it would be heavily influenced by hugely popular maps like operation metro and operation locker, there are so many 24/7 servers that are always full running those maps EA may want to cash in on the craze for them. I don't think it will be CoD like, close quarters for BF3 was a deliberate attempt to emulate CoD and it wasn't that popular.

I'd rather have Bad Company 3, aside from 1942/desert combat on the PC, BFBC2 has been my favourite on the consoles.
Isn't there a good chance this is the new Starwars:Battlefront? It's being made by the exact same team at Dice right?
As a side note I can't wait for Battlefront... I don't care that it's essentially going to be Battlefield re-skinned it's going to be awesome!

You have to see it from other peoples perspective. The game is bugged beyond reasonable doubt and affects different players in different ways. Game modes, server types/sizes, pings etc.
To say the game is not bugged would be a lie, you're clearly not noticing it or blind to the facts it needs work.
Personally I used to really enjoy it, I ranked over 260 hours. However, over the past few days, I've had nothing but bad games so pulled the plug. Uninstalled it and reverted back to BF3.
What is more of a joke is the release of CTE which gives you the impression that BF4 is indeed, still in beta mode.
+1 BF4 was rushed to market and is still a deeply flawed game, I can empathise with people's massive frustration with it.
Because if it was any other product it'd have probably been withdrawn from sale within the first couple of months. Games are seemingly immune to this and so developers/publishers are free to push games to meet unreasonable release dates and then fix them gradually once they've received millions in sales.
Those issues are fixed, they skimped on the server hardware which caused the games issues.
It's a shame it had those problems because BF4 is the best battlefield by quite a way IMO.
This is a Counter Strike clone from Visceral games published by EA with the word battlefield stuck in the title to make all the people who buy battlefield games talk about it.

No Star Wars battlefront is same time next year. (2015) EA have to have an fps game out every October to beat COD to market.

If you think EA was not going to have an FPS game in 2014 just because of bf4 you're incredibly naive. The reason development on BF4 is so slow is most of the devs are already working on the 2015 game the new Star Wars battlefront

Pretty much my stance except I'll wait until it is 100% finished and purchase it second hand.

I've got so much tied up in bf4 re premium etc that this would have to be amazing to interest me

I've never had a real problem with bf4, I get the odd disconnection, but it's never been a major problem for me. Maybe I'm just lucky? The only thing that gets on my nerves is the lack of uptake on hardcore servers.
What part of my post said anything about not expecting a shooter from EA!!!
I was simply pointing out the fact I'm incredibly disspointed at the release of another Battlefield game. BF4 has had nothing but bad press for a good reason. It's awful!
TBH the idea of a special forces/swat team themed BF set on Operation Metro style maps excites me a bit. Sad thing is that Battlefield's original spirit; massive open maps with large scale vehicular warfare will fall by the wayside I think.
