Astra H 2007, Car Wash - Aerial

Good day,

I recently bought a used Astra H, 1.8.

I wanted to run it through a car wash but was concerned about the aerial.

It does not seem to easily come off although it does seem very flexible.

The manual is not extremely clear on what to do here.

Does any know if it can be removed or if it is capable if withstanding a few flexes each time.

Seriously thinking maybe a a hand car wash would be better.

The mast just unscrews from the base if it is the standard aerial.

I will check if it unscrews, failing that then a hand wash it is.

It should unscrew, but be careful, the rubber around the joint can crack up when you twist it - if it looks perished, sticked to hand wash. You can also buy shorter 'bee-sting' antennas that you can leave on, but not sure if they impede the reception..

just pay a fiver and get it washed by hand, probably do a better job and wont destroy your paintwork as bad

Yes the rubber is definitely perishing, think I will just leave it.
