Does anyone know why these cards are so noisy. I bought one yesterday as its pre-overclocked & comes with a 450W capacity HSF with triple fans but I have found to my horror today after delivery its simply a loud card.
Up until 60% fan speed its almost silent 60-70% it gets quite noisy 70% + its very loud & noticeable.
Tried using the Gigabyte OC Guru tool to set a fan profile.
Tried lowering the default overclock to same as a std GTX 780 Ti.
Tried with/without case sides on.
The fans are still way too noisy for me think I have to DSR its simply not silent enough unless your game only uses 50-55% of the GPU power
due to the terrible low quality fans Gigabyte use they are only about 1cm high fan blades & way too small IMO. They should have used higher profile fan blades
Crysis 3
NFS Most Wanted (Criterion)
Batman Arkham Origins
Are the worse offenders all those games cause the fan noise to become unacceptable to me for such a premium product. Older games do not go beyond 50-55% GPU power so the fans never ramp up but it seems unreasonable to me that I have to compromise on such a high end GPU due to poorly designed triple fans.
Stunning card except for the fans
everything else is very solid
