**The big ol' Z97 thread!**

That settles it, will be with me next week.

Now just waiting on CPU news.

Great decision. This Gene reminds me a lot of the M5G. This was the best Z77 Chipset board bar none and was proven thus by most Xtreme and Pro Overclockers prefering it.

ASUS are onto a winner with the Z97 guise. a lot of tuning as gone into it for sure.

Like I say if an OC Comp depended on it I would go for OCF or Gene.

8 Pack, will you be at computex and trialling any of the other rog boards? I believe asus will be showing the m7 formula at it. Lots of net rumours suggest the formula will be the single high end board in the ROG series, which i find kinda strange. Normally they have the extreme then the formula to fill the gap between the likes of the hero. Extreme being a PLX board. The m7 gene looks like a great little board for the price, but it would look very out of place in my enthoo primo case. If the m7f turns out good, ill likely go with it and a 4790k. More than enough for me as i only ever do dual single gpu sli.

MSI have a new(ish) flagship "Gaming 9" arriving anytime.

The board that interests me the most so far is the Asrock Z97 Extreme 6, quite feature packed including an "ultra m.2" that connects directly to the cpu and gives a whopping 32GB/S bandwidth. For a flagship model, pricing is quite moderate.

Hi I've decided to go for the Asus deluxe although oc have no stock :( Can someone recommend a good set of ddr3 2x8gb

Cheers

What are you using the ram for delpy (gaming, workstation etc...)?

In most cases I find the 2133mhz kits (corsair, team or gskill) offer the best price/performance. Even Kingston if you can get it at the right price.

What a out the Ocuk Kingston kits? Seem to have a decent price point :)

Xpower is out for delivery today can't wait!!! Hopefully my new PSU comes today too :D

I have several ROG Z97 boards but the specifics are NDA till ROG Press conference.

There is no Z97 Xtreme for sure. The next Xtreme ASUS board will be on X99.

Haven't really looked at these boards yet but which board would be best for crossfire?

Thinking x16 x16 with good spacing if possible.

Don't focus too much on a plx 16/16 board if your aim is only 2 cards.

Something like the soc-force will give you great spacing (slots 1 & 5) running at 8/8 3.0

Thanks Paul, so there isn't much difference between 16/16 & 8/8?

First delivery of the day

I would hope so :)

Doesn't look like my PSU is coming today, its been at Gatwick for 3 days :p

I'll most likely be putting the new board in tomorrow, I have a cunning plan to use lots of cable ties to sling my gpus in a suspended state while I slide out the old board and put the new in.
