I have a 4 and half year LG TV that has given up the ghost, i have replaced this now anyway but remembered i have a 5 year warranty with Richer Sounds, does anyone know what the likely outcome will be ? or have any experience with them on warranty matters

I will pop down and see them early next week but thought i would ask here anyway

Have a look at the warranty document T&C's. I would imagine if telly requires replacement parts & they are no longer available (I would not be surprised on a telly that age) then they will either offer a replacement telly, which should be the equivalent more up to date telly (not necessarily a current model ) or a credit up to the value of what you paid for your LG telly towards what they have available in stock. If the replacement telly you chose is more than what you paid then I would think that you could come to some sort of arrangement as regards paying the difference.

Bottom line is to read the small print 1st. ;)

Talk to them.
Richer Sounds have a very good customer services ethic.

If you have to have an issue with a product, Richers is the company you want to be with- they are regarded as having some of the best CS around.
If personal experience is anything to go by, they'll sort you out a new telly...

You shouldn't have a problem with one of their extended warranties. I haven't had a good experience when it comes to buying or trying to listen to something which is a separate issue.

I have had similar issues with them but believe the warranty should be honored fairly easily.

Had an amp and a tv fail while under RS warranties. Service was great both times.

Amp was irreparable, so went through the web site and chose a replacement and they had it delivered to me.

TV was repaired and sent back to me. Well, I say repaired, it was pretty much a brand new TV by the time they finished iirc.

having dealt with richer sounds for cs issues I would say they make our own 5ub look just average.

had issue with an onkyo amp and they couldn't have been any more helpful including offering to cover cost of parking to return and bunging in some free cable to make up for the hassle.

currently got my pz750 on a 5 yr rs warranty and reading the t and c s I'm quite soundly sleeping at night.

bear in mind if its over 32" they will arrange uplift etc just give them a phone

RS are decent, my Marantz AV Receiver developed a whine and would have to be power cycled whenever it was cold before it would work correctly.

They had it for a week, they couldnt replicate the fault.
They sent it away for testing, nada,
They kept hold of it and swapped it out for a different one.

Would buy from again
A+++++++++

and all that guff.
