Hi everyone! I will soon build my first gaming pc and I obviously want it to be a little beast :) my budget is around £2000 so I think the PC will be pretty good. Now, my question is : should i buy the hardware and build it until christmas or wait until next summer for the new cpu's and maybe gpu's ? what do you guys think ? :)

If you wait until next summer, a newer bunch of cpu's and gpu's will be out/coming out.

Welcome to the world of pc gaming/upgrading!

I don't think CPU will make a huge difference for gaming, the big difference will be the GPU. Either way there both due late 2014 early 2015 so be wise to wait till then and buy your new hardware.

So you guys are saying that I should wait until summer or very late 2014 to build the PC :) I might as well wait so I can get the best out of it :) thanks.

it may be a good idea, but be careful not to get into the never ending cycle of waiting for new hardware - there will always be new hardware 'soon'. Enjoy either way though!

Ohooo. Don't worry about the never ending cycle xD I cannot wait to build this pc so i wont wait too long. I'll just wait for some sales and maybe for de ddr4 if it's coming out till summer but if not.. Then too bad hahaha.

If you have the money to buy it all and build it all now go for it (although wait until the start of June for the Haswell refresh K series processors). If you dont have the money now and will be buying parts gradually leave it until you have the money then get it all at once as that way you will be able to get all the newest components possible.

I'd wait for them haswell k CPUs in June then just go for it , if it's purely for gaming , then aslong as you get a solid mobo and CPU you'll just need to upgrade the gpu when they start getting out dated :) that's what I found anyway , just upgraded my 4 yr old rig with new gpu and it maxes out everything I've tried at 1080p
:) ...
