I am looking at building a PC soon and have decided to wait to see what the Z97 range can offer. One feature that I am interested in is having 2 Internal USB3 Headers (one for case and one for card reader) but can't seem to find many in my price range.

I had originally liked the Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4518#ov) but Gigabyte doesn't seem to believe in 2 Headers anymore!

I have found the ASRock Z97 Extreme6 and the MSI Z97-G55 SLI
http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97 Extreme6/
http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z97G55_SLI.html#specification

Does anyone have any information on ASRock vs MSI and which one to choose or know any other boards in this price range?

Thanks for any help!

ASRock cheap and poor support (search these forums for proof).

When they broke away from parent Asus a few years ago some thought they re the second coming (around Z68 time).

I would not touch one with 8packs pecker. :D

The Gigabyte motherboard in your post above does come with 2 internal USB 3 headers.

I see what you mean about the newer models on the Z97 chipset.

Oh really? I have heard similar feedback about MSI but have heard that (for motherboards) you should stick with the 4: Asus, Gigabyte, MSI and ASRock. This is my first build in a very long time so am not sure what is good or not. Have read quite a bit but everywhere seems to have good and bad points.

Yeah that Gigabyte was ideal but is a Z87 and have been advised to go to Z97 now as they are similar priced and newer/more up to date technology. Just really annoying that they didn't make anything similar to it.

I've owned a ASrock z68 extreme 4 since around launch and its been flawless, Im not doubting others that have had issues, just thought i'd add a positive:D

I know there will be good and bad but overall if you read forum and some staffs comment here you will see, ideally you never want to use support/rma.

Asus have poor support but normally products are good.
