Hello.

I recently upgraded to talktalk fibre (got a good deal as I was going to leave). However the upload speed is shockingly bad and I only get 1.5 - 2.0mbps upload

They said the only way I can get more is to phone the business department and see what they can offer but they're not open until Tuesday at now so I thought ide ask here.

Would it be possible for a home user to get a business package allowing greater upload? I get 35-40mbps download but ide happily get 25-30mbps and have a bit better upload speed. Im not sure if they would have to put in a new line or what for a business user?

Talktalk residential offer 2 packages,

2/40 and 20/80

You are on the former hence the low upload bandwidth. You need to upgrade to "Fibre Large"
 
Their Fibre Large package is 80/20. Not sure why they didn't offer you that.

It sounds like you're on Fibre Medium, which is 40/2.

Edit: Beaten like the OP in a file uploading competition.

Yep got the full 20/80 totally rock solid.

Changed to Sky 10/40 and its the biggest load of rubbish known to man, only get 10/25 MAX. Due to the inept Sky equipment.
