so i'll tell you that given that volts is a constant, amps and watts both increase linear fashion

@ OP, sorry I cannot go on when a fool trying to be smart says I pull figures out of air (assume he means thin air) after I posted links.
He has such a boner for wattage he does not know the amps on each rail are important.

Even if that 42 AMPS for the 780Ti from MSI is a safe quote his GPU uses 2x8pins as its more power hungry and again his single rail GPU has only 54 AMPS.

@ savgebeast, That EVGA is a good PSU for price and made by SuperFlower so look at the Superflower Leadex range also.
Yes its overkill but again a good price and a very strong single 12v Rail with 83 AMPS.

This, but the EVGA 1300 watt PSU he linked would be way overkill.
SuperFlower PSU's looks nice with the white LED's and is also I believe a oem for EVGA
I take it the OP has 2 x 8 pin pci-e cables plugged in?
If the card was faulty I would expect it to have the issues every time it was under 3D load.
I'm presuming this is the PSU in question.

It is rated at best for a mid range system.
I would be looking at the PSU failing/not being up to the job.(IMO)

it seems allot of the leadex range psu only have a single 8 pin (such as http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-006-SF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2057)
the EVGA one is a really nice price and would future proof my system but im unsure if it comes with any power cables and if it supports 2 8 pins as it doesnt say on the OCUK page (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-004-EA&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2464)
im currently using a Intel® Core™ i3-530 Processor (4M Cache, 2.93 GHz) but i have it overclocked to 4.2ghz (my entire system was a OCUK custom from 2 years ago and this was their stable overclock had no problems with that at all) im using a H55M-UD2H motherboard, 16GB 1600mhz ram and a 250gb SSD
yes it currently has 2 8 pins connected, the thing im most baffled about is the under-performance its showing (is this typical of a lacking psu not providing enough juice?)
