Nice!

Played boat loads of BF4 this weekend. I'll tell you this much, the feeling when you get a RPG triple kill on a minibird never gets old :D

Getting 2 or 3 headshots with one bullet is quite satisfying to :D (happens more by chance though).

Did you shadowplay it Kiwi?

Afraid not, it wasn't particularly an amazing shot but this pilot and his buddies had been raining down hell for too long so it was quite satisfying :)

Also, you all need to read this http://www.esl.eu/eu/bf4/forum/3128/31579/1166700/?singleposting=8686003&postcount=2. All good info from ESL EMS One regarding hitreg / network updates etc

Cheers. To wolfs comments:

I also mentioned the abusing of the "low" Setting of tickrate because i see someone posted it before somewhere, BUT you cant abuse it because it isnt tickrate per se, but updaterate, he used the term Tickrate as an easy explanation for the effect it is causing, so the setting only puts down how much you recieve from the server, and the other way around.

Is he saying that you can't really abuse the setting because it only limits the rate at which you get information about the world around you, not the rate at which other players receive info about your position/world around them?

Not played this since early March - anyone who had regular FPS drops for no reason, has this been fixed ?

Can't be assed to redownload/install this if the fps drop/stutter is still there.

Had a quick hop onto normal bf4 just now. Does indeed feel a bit smoother, not CTE on a good night smooth. But an improvement of sorts nonetheless.

thats a great post

thanks for sharing. Interesting to hear some proper in depth comparisons between BF4 and other frostbite engined games. Lord knows why they made the decisions they did.

I was particularly interested in the BF3 vs BF4 comparison where they stated that BF3 feels snappier because it utilizes a higher rate for damage registration, whereas destruction etc runs at 10hz.

Why did they change something which was not broken??

And altough im not sure if it is getting changed with the next Patch or not, part of the reason that BF3 was snappier than BF4 has to do with the priorisation of the packets, BF4 says Animations, sound and muzzleflashes first, while it was damage and bullets first in BF3, which gives you ofc better chances of using cover to your advantage

Who is woll3?
Is there any truth to his statement?

And just to mention it, servers that arent getting restarted a lot are starting to "leak", and might prefer different clients depending on when they joined, and what slot they are occupying. So the recommendation is to restart the server before every match.

That explains a lot of good server/bad server experiences I've had on the same server!

Had a couple of funny metro rounds yesterday. Both when we were US and Russian, the my team completely steamrollered the opposition back to spawn within about 5 mins of the start of round. They vote nuked us about 3 times in one game and 4 in the other (each time was a triple nuke over a min) and the other team still failed to cap a single flag.

Thats one of the things I've seen mentioned on CTE, when they restarted all of them and everyone started playing again it was like a different game...

The problem with restarting servers every round, is that some servers take hours to populate, if they go went down every round, they would never fill in the first place. If the server could reset or restart without kicking the players that would work better.

Nah every round for pub would be ridiculous! For comp maybe...

Didn't they say ages age they were going to restart all servers early every Tuesday morning?

When the CTE fixes hit the base game you will see a marked improvement. Its still not 100% pot perfect, but much better. People are likening it to BF3.

You played the CTE DG?

Not sure if it's been posted but NVIDIA 337.88 WHQL are out as of yesterday. Looks like they made an update to the SLI driver for BF4 for those that are interested.

The changes seem to be limited to adding the exe name for the CTE version for SLI.

Every other Tuesday for console, server admins on PC have to restart their own servers, I know many do this.

which means that there are likely plenty of PC servers out there running like crap that haven't been rebooted in a while.

This at least explains why many were so confused when DICE announced the root cause of the rubber banding on cosoles was down to poor spec of the servers. Leaving many experiencing issues on PC wondering what their issue is.

I'm guessing the answer is this memory leak. Also explains why PC was so variable, where all the console games were crap.
