beasted bf4 quite a bit over the weekend. mostly normal but a few rounds of CTE.

cte still feels like walking in watery soup, changed the fov back to what I had it on in normal game and it's like I'm playing quake live xD that fisheye/goldfishbowl :p that did help the sense of speed but still..... hit reg seems to be improving. people/myself seem to die a lot faster..... but still think some trades are complete BS due to mudhut pings :p

normal game.... still broken but still fun :D had some absolute beast rounds!!! and played a few rounds as commander, love them cruise missiles.... however.... they take WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too long to get to the target once deployed (on larger maps atleast). think on dragons pass it was taking approx 20 seconds for it to actually splash down at the target. my mate was playing the enemy commander so we could note some things. I launched my missile the moment he used his emp somewhere, I then waited about 3 secs then used my proxy...so he was out of action for 14-15 seconds... he then had enough time to put down another emp just as my missile was coming onto the zoomed out overview screen..... absolutely no hope of landing it unless he had no idea where it was going. this is seriously **** as it's one of the only few good things about being a commander. not to mention if it doesn't get destroyed by the enemy commander then taking 20 secs to get to a location is stupid as so much can change in 20 secs in bf4. usually by the time the missile gets to a high population area they've all already moved on. Also the radius..... it's ****, it's a cruise missile... not a ******* grenade!! watched a rocket hit while zoomed all the way in...there were people in the explosion cloud and they just carried on like nothing happened! grrrr!!!!

I can managed to get the timing right against most commanders so they are busy elsewhere or waiting on recharge for EMP, etc. but the explosion radius on it is silly small only thing really its useful for is taking out unaware snipers and the odd boat if your lucky.

For £270

Looks soooooo damn good!

Was having doubts about coming from dell u2311h, but this screen looks much better for everything and the aspect ratio is GREAT for films/games. Will try to post pics if you want.

Yeh was always curious about the widescreens as not all games properly support the aspect ratios. How is it in BF4? Do you notice any input lag and how was it down grading to 60hz?

would be interested in which FOV setting you settle on mate.

Cutscenes obviously stretch out slightly in campaign mode, starting up is in just 1080p but in game it seems to support WS pretty well. I'm just not sure which FOV setting we should use at that res!

PS - I've got the LG 29EA93-P model - so far not lag visible and yes takes a bit getting used to especially when coming down from a 1440p set.

The good news is that ULTRA mode seems playable (average 60FPS) with dips down to lowest I saw 35fps on a single 290. a heck of a lot less pixels to push than 1440p :)

I was having second thoughts about the 21.9 aspect ratio/ultra wide but after seeing it for myself, love it! I just feel so much more immersed in games/films now.

BF 4 works fine for resolution/21.9, not tried other games yet.... but reading around, there are only a handful of games that don't go 21.9. In the menu screens, it goes back to 16.9 so 23" of the screen will be occupied.

Not played enough yet so can't judge input lag etc. Will post back on this later.

Never had anything higher than 60HZ :p

You also gain more horizontal FOV with this monitor! :D

Will get some pics up soon!

Will report back on FOV later :)

I was going to go for that monitor at the deal price but missed out and the lack of info. was worrying! And then this came along so just pulled the trigger!

I came from a 16.9 1080P 23" monitor so width is still the same for me just a heck of a lot loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonger! :D

Playing bf 4 MP with all ultra!? what is this madness!? All low/of except mesh FTW :p

I got this one due to the multi input support.

Surprised it's got 75hz support too but can't seem to get that to work, think it needs a driver or something...

75Hz is only officially supported at lower than native resolution - if your lucky though (with the Dell most people can not sure with the LG itself) you should be able to get 75Hz at native by forcing it/exposing unsupported modes (you can add it as a custom resolution through the nVidia control panel with nVidia GPUs) a few lucky people have got 80-90Hz at native resolution but most can't exceed 75Hz without frame skipping.

Battlepacks have become completely meaningless they are so badly implemented - should be something of an accomplishment to get one not given out left, right and center :( i.e. first time you RPG a heli, first time you get a multi-kill with 1 bullet, first time you go on a killing spree and get say 15+ kills without dying, etc.

I've been given a load of gold ones just because I was moaning a bit on the official forums about something in the style of "sorry you aren't enjoying the game here have a battlepack to make it all better" (EDIT: All the sillier as it was mostly premium camo stuff I can't even use).

Just found I should be using DVI or display port for true 21.9 support so pics will have to wait till I get that sorted! :p

Might pop on for some round tomorrow.
