My friend just bought this !

The 70's?!

BMW do it today! My M135 has no paint on the inside of the wings, behind the front doors, which looks terrible and no lacquer anywhere else that isn't directly visible e.g under the bonnet and underneath the bootlid.

So if that determines build quality then my gf's C1 is better built!

How the mighty have fallen! :( :( :(

I was recently "given" an old E36 318TI by an old customer! (£300! a token gesture!)

Despite being 20 years old with 180,000 miles on it. It is nevertheless an amazingly solid and confident feeling car. there are no knocks, There is no corrosion! the Engine and Transmission are (as far as I can tell) perfect!

If nothing nasty turns up over the next six months I might be quite happy giving her a serious respray! (As far as I can see, the only issues are cosmetic, and that can be dealt with! )

How many 2014 will feel that good in 20 years time???

Hmmn! :(

True!

The car is a different colour everytime something is opened. It's a shame as apart from that it's a fantastic car.

Back on topic though...I think the C1 is a great car for what it is. I wouldn't take ours on long journeys etc but for the few miles a week the girlfriend does it ideal.

My wife has an 08 'Platinum' edition for her 3 mile commute to work, great little car for the money. Incredibly cheap to run and quite practical too with the rear seats folded down (certainly in contrast to my 350Z!) - we even managed to collect a 46" TV from JL in it the other week!

I'd say the price for the 'blue' model above looks about right, although alloys and leather/suede seats would have been nice, although your friend would have needed to spend more than she did.

I don't get it, is space so rubbish in these things that fitting a 46" TV in is some sort of achievement?

We've had a 3 cylinder Daihatsu Sirion in the family which has been perfectly reasonable for short trips if a bit noisy on the motorway. Quite high seating position so it fits 5 people suprisingly easily!

You're completely missing the point - they'll happily carry 5 adults but hardly build to be carrying big loads around. It's not like we're talking about a van ;)

I spend a fair amount of my time in a C1, and it makes my MG ZS appear well built. That says it all :p

Rubbish! :p

I drive both the 1 series and C1 all the time and yes, the 1 series is a much nicer place to be but the C1 is hardly badly screwed toghether. There's no rattles, squeaks or bits falling off...
