Ive just bought this mobo on a famous auction site and having problems getting it to boot.
If ram is placed on any of the 2 nearest slots to cpu it wont boot code 55.
If i use slot 3/4 boots fine.
tried 3 kinds of ram all working on different rigs.
Faulty mobo?
bios is the latest 3603 also when ram is on slot 1/2 dram led comes on.

Ive reseated cpu/gpu/ram cmos etc it wont boot on slots 1/2 the ones closest to the cpu.

Any help welcome

you mean it wont boot from the two black slots? yet work ok from the red slots?

you tested one ram stick in one of the black slots at a time? see if it boots?

can be bent cpu socket pins

(think the red slots are used anyway with just two sticks)

Right from left ofcpu to the right lets callet it slots 1/2/3/4 .
it only boots if ram on slots 3/4 or 3 alone or 4 alone with 1 stick
if any stick on slots 1 or 2 code 55
slots A1 B1 i mean not working and giving code 55

A2/B2 boots fine

ill check for bent pins on mobo cpu socket now

yeah, bent pins or too tight a cpu cooler

right now as it is your only running single channel mode,to run dual channel the two ram sticks need to be in both red or black slots

you could also makesure your running latest bios, that might help

yh if one or some are slightly bent it would still boot but would cause some of the memory slots not to work, due to the memory controller being on the cpu

tried pressing the memok button on mb? makesure your running latest bios,if its still doing it try reseating cpu cooler but not too tight

Im using stock intel cooler and have reseated it few time looks fine to me.

it can only be bent pins/too tight a cooler or motherboard flexing/bending,can pull up gently on the ram to flex the board upwards slightly (only slightly)

oh ,when if place cpu on socket it does look like it is overtight when i close the tab.

Could it be this?

no that's normal, you hear a crunching sound as you clamp the cpu down, thats all the pins pressing onto each pad on the cpu,if any are off alignment they wont touch the cpu and cause issues

did you try pressing the memok button on the board when the ram is in red or black slots?

take some close up pics of the whole socket/pins take care not to damage anything

it should work fine with stock cooler, changing cooler wont fix anything imo

By memory ok button you mean red go button on top right corner ?

thinkso it should say on or near it memok

yes i have and same thing

those pins all look ok to me

you can try leaving the cmos/mb battery out for 10 minutes then try, could try the corsair cooler if its got a backplate,it might pull the board in and make the slots work
