Older game I know but still the best fighting game on PC :D

If you go to Steam & redeem your GFWL retail serial number it upgrades to the new from today Steamworks only edition.

It also imports your GFWL save if you kept one but does not keep all the data as I just found out :( (Steamworks online play is also way worse than GFWL was right now lots of connection problems & audio lag).

This is in preparation for the Ultra edition coming out next month on console but not until August on PC :( (you can then pay to upgrade your existing Steam account version instead of buying the entire game again).

Does not convert any DLC bought from GFWL store though so you lose that its all currently 75% off on Steam.

Preffered GFWL, now I cant message players, invite people from my Live friends list and theres a stutter at the end of each game when it saves. Oh and I used to use the Home screen to check the time now I have to Alt + Enter

Much better now there is no gfwl, the messaging was tedious having to go through gfwl, and if you're playing with a friend you can just add them to steam. At least random kids cant message you with insults now when they lose.

Costumes wont carry over, i just rebought them for steam as its like 2.70 for the lot at the moment. I no longer have to go on game menu, click steam store, then shift+tab back to get my skins to load. They are just there now which is another welcome change lol.

Anyone get the ultra street fighter iv upgrade on steam? i got it but when i load the game it still says its super street fighter iv arcade? though showing up as ultra street fighter iv in my steam menu. the game does say its been released anone had this?

I thought we were getting the update of ultra sf for free for arcade users, i know why free but i was sure i read that somewhere but its 11 quid to upgrade. :/

You have to buy the Ultra upgrade its not free then you have to download a 1.9GB patch from Steam. I bought the retail DVD version & it unlocked 1am Friday morning (DLC is not even on the PC-DVD its only available from Steam servers).

Its only just worth £3.74 not full price I paid for it of £15. 6 x new fighting arenas a few new characters & some costume changes is not exactly a lot of content for the price (between £11-15 depending on when you bought the ultra upgrade).

Typical Capcom anti consumer DLC ripoff & the Steam matchmaking is now way worse than GFWL ever was its hopeless at times to get a single match going.

Some of the reasons why GFWL is so great, the option to message your xbox friends etc. You should be able to use steam to msg your steam friends and invite etc.
