Drove to north london this morning to pick up this. Was sold as non working, put a hard drive in and installed mountain lion through USB and it's working perfectly. Not bad for £25!

The posh thing checks out tbh :p Posh people prefer just throwing things out and buying new because they have the £££££.

Although then again, if they have the ££££££ they won't sell it.

Problem with mac stuff is when out of warranty, it can be ridiculously pricey to get repaired. So in some cases it really can be "sod it, buy a new one". The Macbook Pro I'm typing on stopped reading HDDs and I almost had a fit thinking it could be the motherboard developing a fault, which to replace on a 2010 machine would have cost nearly half of it's resale value if it had been a working machine. It wasn't until I dug around the internet I found a few posts saying that it could be the SATA cable causing the problem and to try replacing that first, before taking it to Apple. Thankfully, it was the SATA cable, which cost me £30 from Amazon as opposed to the couple hundred it would have cost for a new motherboard and someone to replace it at an Apple store or approved repairer.

For people that like to get Apple gear on the cheap, buying non-working second hand machines can be a pretty good deal as Geekman discovered. If I hadn't done the poking around and fitted the new part myself I would have put my own Macbook up for spares and repairs and someone could have had a cheap machine that only needed a £30 part.

best car I have ever owned or driven and I have had a lot. Never owned a Audi before but in comparison I have owned a 2007 BMW and the Audi is miles ahead inside and out.

That's how I got my Mint condition NES.

My dad was doing a chippie job at some posh blokes house in Chiswick. He found it in a skip outside perfectly boxed up and lobbed out along with a boxed copy of SM3.

They had even been bothered to wrap the console and pad up with the plastic wrap. Don't ask me why. Must be an OCD sufferer there.
