£20 taken without consent for a modification I don't even have, and then subsequently demanding I prove that I don't have it is entirely unreasonable IMO.
On the contrary, fill your boots with mods!

I will resist these apps to the very end, even if it means paying two or three times as much for car insurance.
I'd likely have my insurance cancelled after a few days of monitoring. That's pretty bad in my bookI think that it's inevitable and needn't be looked at in a bad way. The more accurately an insurance company can calculate risk, the better they can price premiums. I mean "better" in the sense that the premium will be weighted in your risk profile, or rather your driving style that characterises your risk.

I don't think I'd mind if they sent something reasonably basic, like a peak acceleration/G reading per day or per hour - but not absolute speeds. I probably manage to go off the 160 MPH clock on my private runway once a fortnight or so, and I'd rather the insurance company didn't get the wrong end of the stick!I had a telematics box for my first year of driving and they didn't cancel my insurance, but gave me a renewal of £6500 based on the data. I reckon they were secretly impressed I managed those speeds in a 1.4 Astra![]()
