stay green or go red???

Unless the 2550K was OEM, which then it only had 1 year warranty and may have long gone.

Not sure how you managed to give us the wrong CPU with it being in your sig :p

Definitely a 2550K, but can't find a email receipt. Probably wouldn't have had one though if I bought it direct from the shop.

If that's the case, I would sell the mobo, buy a cheap Z97 mobo and 4690K. It won't cost that much more but you will have a hefty increase in both performance and overclockability.

Me neither :o
I've emailed OcUK customer services to see if they can find my purchase. Must have been about Jan/Feb 2012 as I've found some posts of mine on here trying to flog an AMD setup around that time.

Why the Z97 chipset mate? Are none of the other cheaper chipsets any good?

Latest and greatest. :D Of course the rest are still fine but if you are on the market for a new motherboard, I see no reason to buy anything but the Z97. Prices of Z87 and Z97 motherboards are the same anyway.

Turns out it was the psu after all. Very surprised but happy it's not cost me as much to fix.
