dont worry too much tony, Its not in the changelog so I doubt it has.

If you have a separate FOV for vehicles, then its a yes. :)

Just had a go with the latest patch on a 100mb fibre connection with a ping of 7. Against other low ping players, the game works a treat. Against a 200+ ping player though and you don't stand a chance against them. I shot first every time against the same two guys and died every time. Needs to be servers that stop anyone from having a ping over 100 joining it tbh.

Sorry if you have already mentioned, but did you find the CTE allot better?

For me CTE was a lot better than vanilla.

Out of interest Roff, what kind of connection have you got? (speed/ping etc) :)

I've never played CTE, while this update feels tighter and more consistent the actual hit reg seems at best unchanged and I'm actually finding it a bit worse (depends a bit on weapons though - high rate of fire stuff seems a tad more effective but low rate of fire seems a bit worse).

Connection wise:

Pinging 15ms pretty much dead solid in any good server at the moment which seems more like a curse than anything else as the first 5 bullets or so seem to often have little effect against someone pinging much over 50-60ms - its almost like the game is discarding them by the time it gets to syncing everything up :|

Pretty much my experience but it doesn't have to be 200+ms - anything more than about 40-50ms above my ping and often the first few 100ms of whatever I do doesn't really count for much towards the final outcome :|

Yeah - not recently but I do play stuff like QL a bit so can see the overall consistency (I always have the netgraph on in games like that).

Besides which as I live with people in IT jobs who often work from home we have several connections here - I've had a go at playing on both FTTC lines and the backup ADSL2+ and its exactly the same.

Have you tried playing on a server where you have a higher ping (ie US server) ?

Problem with that you usually get kicked with "play in your own country" :S and/or its not actually that fun playing with a worse ping even if it does give you a certain advantage.

Dunno what to make of recent update tbh but it just feels worse to me ,maybe I need to find perfect balance in new network options or just get used to it but man does the game feel weird now soldier just feels like he`s floating along now and people drop dead without any hit markers when I shoot them was a normal not Hc server because I had to check to make sure

That is so much better. I could actually play without feeling my blood pressure increase by the minute - being able to be killed and know you felt every shot, they were actually looking at you lets you just say 'oh well, my bad', not wanting to punch my monitor because you instantly die to a weapon that needs 5 bullets to kill and they are looking away from you. Feels good man.

Make sure you set the option to High, it defaults to Off.

I've got much the same connection as you (Plusnet 80/20 ~10ms ping) I have very little hit reg issues in CTE (odd trade now and again) not even when there is arguably more of a ping difference in that than in retail. On UK servers in retail it should be even better as you wont have the Americans etc connecting to EU servers....

well can honestly say after the new patch, feels very different to me, good different though. I'm getting killed a lot quicker that's for sure, and everything feels faster..thats not placebo.

Yeah, gotta say I did actually have some fun when I gave BF4 a go after patching it up today for the first time in almost a month.

Do remember that you will most likely need to turn the high frequency update option on, as by default it's not enabled.

Haven't checked out about the FOV change stuff.

yes I've done that, thanks for the heads up

Keep getting a game error message when trying to join. The game is updated and I restarted my machine.

Thats terrible (video) as it highlights how truly screwed you are when you have a low ping. If, even after this patch, it takes approximately 150ms for a shot to register at 50ms ping, just imagine how bad the game must feel with a ping of 10, as you still have that 150ms delay on top regardless. Awful engine.
