How many pairs of shoes do you have?

1.

Vaguely formal work shoes. Also one pair of flip flops at a time, which only cost about 2 quid each, so they get replaced as and when.

6 x shoes for work
2 x football boots
1 x indoor football boots
1 x gym shoes
1 x wellies
2 x Timbies (for my toes, Beastie Boys yo!)\
1 x Cats for mud activities
3 x old skate shoes

That's 17 I think.

e: I am not including jandals/flip flops or other flimsy footwear as they are shoe imposters.

2 x toe cap boots/shows for work
2 x skateboard trainers (1 pair is a few years old, 1 pair is 7 years old)
1 x leather trainers for 'going out on the ****' which I bought 10 years ago
1 x smart shoes. Very knackered.
1 x new smart shoes. ~£20.
1 x Vans trainers (slip ons I think?) - Half price on hotukdeals.

I buy shoes when I need them.
I throw them away when I have a hole in the sole and my feet get wet.

Designer shoes are for benders. I have never really understood buying expensive clothes - I only buy fancy brands when in the USA due to <50% cost.

If we're just talking shoes rather than boots, wellies, trainers specifically for sports, flip flops etc then it's:
- 2 pairs of black shoes
- smart leather shoes
- brogues
- suede loafers
- suede lace ups
- deck shoes
- trainers for walking to work
- tatty trainers for outdoors

So that's 9, not too bad I guess :p

One pair of formal shoes
One pair of steel caps
One pair of trainers

Formal shoes are for interviews

Steel caps are for day to day (they look like normal shoes, albeit large because of my foot size)

Trainers are for running/gym only.

16 pairs of shoes, 8 pairs of pumps, race boots, walking boots, mountain bike shoes, 4 pairs of slippers. Just counted :)

A goodyear welted shoe made in England will not only be more comfortable and massively outlast your cheap glued made in wherever crap, but also look better during that time.

You're all a bunch of girls :p I have a pair of shoes and a pair of trainers. That is enough for me

That isn't enough, choosing the right footwear for an occasion is just as important as the rest of the what you are wearing. If you are wearing a suit then I expect you make sure your suit, shirt and tie (optional pocket square) are harmonious so why wouldn't you ensure your shoes go too. For exampl, if you have different colour suits then you are most probably going to need a pair of black and a pair of brown shoes. Most formal shoes don't go with jeans (IMO) so then add a more casual looking shoes to the list.

As for trainers, I used to be a one trainer guy and always wore skate shoes which are fine with my boot cut jeans but skate shoes can't be worm with slimmer jeans like easy or slim fit (not skinny they should all be burned in hell). So you find yourself with 2 pairs of trainers.

Nevermind counting specislist footwear like my biking shoes, safety shoes, football boots. So when you count up I am surprised the average is only 9.

Trainers
2 x Smart shoes for work/suit
2 x boots

If you want to count sports related:
cycling shoes
neoprene shoes for kayaking

7 all up, only have shoes if there is a purpose. The second set of boots and smart shoes are from my days as an air cadet in CCF so don't get used anymore tbh.

Currently I've got

1 pair of shoes (for work)
1 pair of smart shoes (bought for a wedding)
1 pair of DeWalt boots (steel toe-capped)
1 pair of trainers
2 pairs of motorcycle boots (Offroad and "race" style)

That's quite excessive for me

2 x pairs of boots
3 x running trainers
2 x casual trainers
1 x formal shoes
1 x football boots
1 x flip flops for the gym changing rooms

Think that's it. I use all of them though.

1x Pair of trainers
1x pair of Merrel hiking shoes
1x pair of Merrel hiking boots
1x pair of Dr Martens (black, 14 hole)
1x Pair of cowboy boots
1x pair of cowboy shoes
1x pair combat boots.

So seven.

Some smart shoes, Astro boots, trainers, walking boots, pumps, some flip flops, and I've got some normal boots laying about somewhere.

So seven, excluding wellies and ski boots.
