Show us your kitty cats

Not going to be able to get our kitten until next Thursday now because he's too small for his initial injections :(

What age do people typically get their kittens? He's 9 weeks now.

8 weeks min for moggies, 13 weeks for pedigrees.

Only 4 weeks old :) more pics to follow, this is from the current owner who has the mother. Got a little while left until we have him.

I got Lola at 9 weeks. Dave was 3 weeks older but they'd been in the same foster home. They didn't have their jabs for a few weeks because they weren't going outside or having contact with any other animals. It shouldn't stop you getting him if he's the only cat you'll have.

Speed Circuit = Loves it, and sleeps in it
Food Maze = Was vaguely interested, but not fussed at all now
Massage Centre = Gave it a sniff, never been back
 
He will have been weaned nearly 2 weeks by the time we get him, is there anything we need to be mindful of? What about getting him used to people, should we make a point of going to see him again?
 
I only saw my 2 boys twice before picking them up from the breeder, once at 5 weeks and then when I actually picked them up. They were pretty curious and had a good sniff of me and then were just wondering around when I went to pick them up. If I were you Pike I would wait till you get them home as they will react differently to where they are now as they are used to where they are now, but when they get to yours its going to be a big shock etc.

Don't be suprised if they go off and hide somewhere, my 2 managed to wedge themselves under the damn bookcase in a 3 inch gap!! I left them there for around an hour to calm down a bit then got them out and left them be. Next morning they are under the bookcase again!! Was not happy leaving them there as it was such a small space so got them out again and blocked the space off and then left them to explore. They ended up liking the upstairs hall and over the next couple of days I went up there to sit with them and took treats and toys to make them feel more at home. After a week they were sitting on me and playing with me etc. I would give it 2 weeks before you bring strangers round and probably only a few at a time when you do have them round.
 
Just getting the 1 kitty but cheers for that.

Plan is to confine him to the kitchen initially as its laminate flooring and theres nothing to get stuck behind/under :p
 
Granted I live in a small flat, but when I got my two, there was no "confining to one room" I just let them out the cat box and off they went. :)
 
Ha sorry I get so used to speaking in plural about cats now I have 2! I too was thinking of confining them to the Lounge but in the end I didn't bother and they were fine apart from the bookcase thing. Your going to have to let him out eventually so I personally wouldn't confine him but that is up to you. I can garuntee that he will find spots to hide anyway in your kitchen lol, you'd be amazed where they can get. I had a slight advantage as I had fostered cats for 2 years so I had most of the hiding places sussed. One cat did disapear that I was fostering and I eventually found that he was going behind the microwave lol.
 
I was only planning to confine him for an hour or so, as to not overwhelm him, the only room downstairs is the kitchen everything else is upstairs.
 
Oh if only for an hour that will be fine, thought you meant for a day or 2. Well have fun and let us know how it goes. Be prepared to be running round trying to find him in the first few days lol, I was like this with my boys even though I had fostered before lol. He will no doubt get into anything and everything lol.
