*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S5 Thread ***

Arrived, how is it?

It's very nice. Does what my HOX does only much smoother and clearer. Great screen!

My only niggle so far is the menu/recent button. I much prefer it the other way around. Is there a way to change this with out root? I will be rooting, can't help myself, but want to make sure the phone's 100% before I blow my warranty :)

upgrade from S3, besides battery, all looks good.

ohhh and anyone got briefing alarm type? Seems to be missing, had it on the S3, it wasn't an additional app as far as i remember?????

You were getting better battery life on your S3 than you are on the S5!?

S3 could go 2 or 3 days before recharge. Maybe coz it's new S5 and i keep messing with it:).......You got the briefing alarm? driving me nuts trying to figure it out! Loved the early morning wake up briefing

Got a software update via Vodafone this morning, filesize of over 100mb, still says Android 4.4.2 though

They're a bit slow. I got that on my unbranded S5 over three weeks ago. The Android version will only change when there has been an update to the OS by Google and this is then implemented by Samsung. Android 4.4.3 will be with us soon. This is a bug fix implemented by Samsung so all that you will see changing will be the modem/build numbers.

Care to share the details?

well.... im in contract with them currently until the end of August... im not due an upgrade yet,I phoned them yesterday and they said that when I am due my upgrade, I would be able to get a s5 for a one off £99 fee, then pay £42 a month for unlimited calls/sms

I was a cheeky git and asked for my pac code, I was told if I used it id incur the future months tariff charges...

cue today, I got a call from the loyalty team offering me £32 a month, unlimited sms, unlimited calls, 3gb 4 g data, the phone for free

not bad to say im not even due an upgrade and they could have simply used contract enforcement...:o

Impressive, could you confirm if that's over 12 or 24 months please?

unfortunatly 24m has been the norm for a while now. Just play a bit of poker with them, get your pac, then leave it a few days, you might get a loyalty call like i did.

Got mine from 02, £25 pm for the handset 0% APR over 24 months in the 02 refresh plan £15.99 for 5GB of 4G data and unlimited calls/texts. Use an open code for 30% off tarrif cost. No upfront cost. £600 total credit for the phone, usually pay off in 5 months so I only pay £15.99 and can upgrade early.

Have an LG G2 too and prefer the LG, bit dissapointed tbf, but overall an excellent package, the camera is superb.
