**Gigabyte Gaming Z97 board discussion thread**

I'm using the gaming G1 but really want wifi but especially bluetooth for streaming music to my BT speakers BUT I can't justify £100 more for the gaming bk version :(

168 hours extra testing on the boards, and an extra years warranty. Pretty good deal to me;)

Edit: Just registered my board for the 5 years warranty, and free prize draw :)

Can you tell me how good is the sound on G1.Sniper Z97 priced at 128.99 compared to a separate sound card like a Sound Blaster Z?

I would say the onboard sound on this gen of motherboards is excellent Ive got the gaming G1 and the creative zxr soundcard BUT Ive removed the soundcard as the onboard is just as good in my opinion :)

Interesting for someone like me jumping to ddr3 and a modern mobo, but cas11 @ 2133MHz does not set the world on fire (cas10 would be much more desirable... I think). Plus isn't the sweetspot for Haswell sometimes 2400MHz memory?

Not to mention these "Killer" network cards seemed to be way overhyped and it looks more beneficial for gamers to chose a Z97 mobo with an Intel NIC.

Thats a great deal on that G7 ,slightly wounded after ive just bought the gaming 5 and that ram for £170 , not sure if i can wait for the new processors all these new parts building up is making me want to build now .

I think the Gaming 5 is a better board than the 7, but the free RAM is very tempting.

I got my Z97MX-Gaming 5 today, I had a few headaches with getting it to output via my graphics card but seems to be all ok and thank god the bios has the option to turn off the red audio LED.

My Gaming 7 mobo with free RAM came this morning.

Hi folks,

silly question here, but on the Z97X-SOC it has both the 8 pin and 4 pin connectors on board.

Do you have to have all plugged in? ive personally never seen this before on a board, or a PSU to come with that many 12v connectors lol.

You do not, 24pin and 8pin ATX is fine, the extra one is for the serious LN2 overclockers etc.
