Im looking to buy a new graphics card is it best to buy 2 GTX 790Ti sli or 1 Titan ?.I know the 2 GTX 790Ti sli will take it up to 6 gig but the titan on its own is 6 gig any recommendations need something powerful to support the 4k monitors on max settings on games .

Two GTX790's will beat a Titan though so will one, we done know how long until the launch of the GTX790 though but we're told sooner than we think.

I'm trying so hard to holding out for a 790 planning on 4K gaming and 3GB VRAM in the 780ti is just nowhere near enough.

Where did you hear that the 790 will be sooner rather than later?

Does he - and others - mean to keep saying 790?

So your saying 2 gtx 780ti will be powerful for 4k monitors @high settings

3gb cards will require lowered settings especially with the console ports we'll be getting in the future. According to TTL at OC3d Watchdogs uses over 3.5 gb's at 1080p and because of the way console ram works we can expect a lot of future ports to use lot's of ram meaning 3gb's won't be enough at 1080p so think about what it will be like at 4k. To ensure smooth 4k gaming card's with more ram would be better.

He talks about this between 13 minutes and 15 min's 40 second's in this video.

I have a 780ti the 790 will have to be seriously good to stop me from just buying a second 780ti for less money.

A Titan's not going to do much at 4k in most games.

Tbh, wanting to 'future proof' for 4k with current cards is silly. I think you'll need to wait for AMD's next offerings and high end Maxwell for something more satisfactory.

A game isn't simply just transferred from 1 platform to another. There are many levels of optimisations that have to be made. It would seem apparent that Ubisoft did not efficiently optimise their code for the pc version, if it requires 3.5GB of VRAM at 1080p, since I would guess >5% of pc gamers have more than 3GB of VRAM (usable) in their systems!
