So as part of the increasing pressure put upon Russia, the US are deploying more troops and hardware. It includes 2 x UK based nuclear capable B2 bombers. Cool! Wonder we're they'll be based? Some pics would be good!

Whilst I agree a good working relationship with the US is important I do wonder whether the time has now come for us to really be considering how one sided this relationship is and whether we should be backing off from allowing such things to happen that have no benefit for us as a country (although plenty will enjoy the photo opportunities!) and a great benefit to the US.

Stunning aircraft:

Nice pics Cosimo - like I said at least we get good photo opportunities! It's a beautiful plane - I still prefer the Vulcan though - that's my favourite but maybe because a bloke down the road has the fuselage of one in his front garden for some reason. I keep wondering whether he would sell it - could put it the conservatory and set it all up for the best Star Citizen experience!

There is/always was the suspicion that there are nuclear weapons held or stored at RAF Lakenheath.

I'd say having a nuclear deterrant based on our soil that we haven't paid for is quite a big benefit.

If Russuia went to war with America then the UK would be a target anyway, so having these based here isn't a bad thing.

We have bases in the US too. We just don't have cool ass planes to park at them :p.

Defence cooperation has no benefit to us as a country? Erm...

I believe the US have an Air Force station Suffolk/Norfolk way. Most probably there.

Yeah, I think you're right. There was a little disagreement between the USAF and the RAF recently around there. I knew it would be Cosimo coming in with the miltary pictures, good pictures though. :p

I beg to differ. I think there's only one of these but it's still pretty darn cool :

Whilst I do appreciate these are magnificent feats of engineering, and extremely impressive aircraft, I do have to wonder whether "cool" is entirely the correct response to a) having nuclear capable bombers deployed here, and more importantly b) the circumstances which mean deploying them is seen as the right thing to do!

Although I guess a nuclear winter would be "cool" in a sense... :p
