I'm up in Inverness and need to get to Antwerp by the weekend. Flying looks to be out of the question as it is just too expensive. I'm just needing a one way ticket. I remember busing it from Inverness to London once and that was a horrible experience :S

So you've already ruled out flying and coaches, and price is an issue which rules out trains. Have you looked into getting a ferry over?

Well other than flying the only option is driving there yourself or seeing about getting a coach.

Other than that a cheap flight to somewhere like Holland and see about getting a train from there?

If you don't want to book a flight, don't like the bus etc and you only have to go one way have you considered climbing inside a box and seeing how much it would cost to go with DHL?

One way flight from Edinburgh to Brussels Charleroi with Ryan Air is £60 on Friday. It'll then cost you about £30 to get from there to Antwerp by train (you can get a bus from the airport to Charleroi train station for about a fiver iirc).

Oh that's brilliant, mate. Perfect. Will just get a lift down to Edinburgh on Thursday.
