Just got the card today, looked on other forums, which seems to be mixed answers. Wondering if anyone knows here a definitive reason why afterburner 290x usage spikes to 100% is it a fault with afterburner or card, on something I need to look at with my PC ?

Just played a game where my top temps were 65% which indicates that i cant be pushing 100% usage in my mind, cause 100% in kombuster is 85 degree"s at 71% fan.
The game seemed to play smoothly at caped 84 FPS in eyefinity. When i tested this with unlimited frames, I was pushing 200-220 FPS in eyefinity but then I had the GPU at 100% flat at 85 degrees.
Is this something to worry about ? not an expert on AMD or Nvidia for that matter lol
Also idle temp is 45 degrees, seems a bit hot, I also have the case open room temp is about 30 degree"s prob cause of the heat from the PC.
I know these run hotter, But my 680"s in the same situation would idle at about 30 degree"s right now. That is a big difference

Issue with Afterburner and how the new amd cards have there usage read. I think in one of the latest Afterburner releases they added a setting to better monitor the usage.
Matt or someone might answer that better.

England unified gpu usage monitoring in afterburner.

Lol jesus. Sorry had a few last night and had the world cup on my mind.

Enable unified gpu usage monitoring OP. :)

Thanks, Seems to have settled down now, at least in what iv managed to test.
This card seems to be set at 85 degrees on full load at 1040 ghz, the extra 10 ghz overclocked through afterburner. That MSI gaming app does not work, Need "VGA drivers"
But in anycase this is acceptable temps for full load, and 64% fan speed for gaming will the card be happy, and this is what i should expect from moving to AMD and msi 290x
