*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Okay guys, I've completed Infamous and nearly finished Wolfenstein, so I plan on trading them in this week (with a few other PS3 games as they are worth just as much! e.g. skate 3 is still worth £10 trade in at Game).

What game would you recommend me getting? I am very tempted by Watchdogs (despite the complaints etc). I traded in Assassins Creed Black Flag before completing it as it got too repetitive for me and I lost all interest. Is Watch Dogs like this? (As I've heard the free running aspect is very similar to AC).

If not Watch Dogs, then has anyone played the action RPG Bound By Flame? It got fairly average reviews but looks like it could be a blast.

Failing that, I am tempted by Need For Speed Rivals. Thoughts? I kind of want a game that I can play and complete in a few weeks (so not interested in heavily multiplayer focused games) as I will then trade it back in to get MotoGP 14.

Watch Dogs is worth a go. It's not ground-breaking really and I am finding it quite repetitive, but it's enjoyable. As long as you don't go into it expecting a GTA-quality game, you won't be disappointed.

I think watchdogs is great, it doesnt live up to the hype but it never could they overhyped it so much. its very similar to assasins creed in ways but i never got on with assasins creed where as i think watchdogs is great.

Tomb Raider is great on PS4 if you havent played it yet.

have you played any of the PSN games as Child of light is a nice game and Transistor gets some great reviews but i havent picked that up yet.

I would say Watch Dogs is less repetitive than AC IV by virtue of the various types of side quests etc. None are particularly engaging but I feel there is enough to keep me going when I fancy a break from the main quest. Oh as above, Tomb Raider is really really good, I'd never played it before so was fantastic. I think if I had to rank all the PS4 retail games I'd played so far it would be, Tomb Raider, Watch Dogs, AC IV, inFAMOUS, Lego Marvel, Killzone (only played 30m of it).

Thanks chaps. I've already got Tomb Raider on PC. Leaning towards Watch Dogs now. I have been tempted by Child Of Light and a few other PSN ones, but right now I'd rather get a physical game I can enjoy and then trade in (as I already have a few PSN titles to complete - Trine 2, Pixeljunk etc).

Transistor is great, I am right near the end but got distracted by Watch Dogs. Any reason for trade in? You'll be at least £10-15 better off selling on MM judging by trade in price I just saw on Shopto.

I thought watch dogs is much better than any gta game mission wise and side missions.
The map is also stunning not quite as good gta5 map though. And tbh only good thing about gta5 was the map.

There games are far to easy and the missions walk you through them far to easily.
Combat in watch ddogs I also find works better, gun selection is better also and so is the vehicles I do also like the driving better in watch dogs.

So I think watch dogs is the better game.

But there's no variety. Every mission seems to play out the same, every side-mission/activity/'random' event seems to play out the same. The storyline and characters aren't particularly compelling and the map, whilst quite detailed, feels a bit lifeless and flat. Combat is a hassle because you're having to scroll through various weapons in real-time whilst being shot at, and there's no way to even fend them off via a hand-to-hand attack or firing blind without aiming.

Not to mention that the licensed music is all entirely awful. If they're not going to put some radio stations in they should have provided the option to import your own music somehow.

Funny you say this. I was saying (from day one) that this game would turn out to be as repetitive as some of the earlier AC games. Looks like I was right.

It just doesn't seem to offer the levels of variety that GTA games offer.

Pretty much just laziness. When I do buy a game, it's normally spur of the moment so I will just want to walk into Game and have it there and then, not wait for people to buy the games individually and have to send them all off :p

This is what is still holding me back from getting it.

Watch_Dogs better than Grand Theft Auto V? Seriously? I mean really?

Get out. Not even worth the debate :p Grand Theft Auto is a superior game in just about every single way, hell, I think Grand Theft Auto IV was / is better than Watch_Dogs :).

I paid £65 for Watch_Dogs from the PlayStation Store, totally regret it. I don't think it's anything more than staggeringly mediocre. It's a very 'Ubisoft' game.

Why must I get out? We all have are options and mine is I like watch dogs better. It's given me more a challenge and some of the missions on hard are very tricky.
Gta I find far to easy with zero reward for completing anything in it.

So the fact watch dogs has given me more a challenge to completing it alone deserve a credit.

Man hard to ignore such a game for me - looks like next-gen Dragon Dogma. Still the AC stuff is confusing as hell as well as the F2P aspect. Ultimately though its gonna be compared to Souls whichever way you look at it...

ps3ud0

GTA 5 is MILES better than Watch Dogs. WD just bored be near enough straight away.

And if you pay that much for a game from then you've more money than sense :p And you're also the reason why digital prices are utterly ridiculous.

Just for future reference, if you have a cex close by to game. Get game to price match. For example, Game offered me £27 for watch dogs, matched price was £37 (they actually beat it by a £1)

There is a page on the game website with info. I do it with every game and console now.

Really?

What aspects do you think that Watch_Dogs is better?

Missions easy with zero reward? What? Like, I don't get that. Watch_Dogs is so incredibly repetitive and boring. Grand Theft Auto has heists, flying helicopters to the side of buildings to kidnap someone and using three different perspectives to do it...

Not to mention the variety in the side missions.
