BMW and M Power Owners

I've always felt they're too small/sleek for 4 doors which is why the 2 door always seems to look a hell of a lot nicer - I'm assuming the same to be the case for these two but I guess I'd have to see them both in the flesh to pass any real judgement.

Interesting day as I sent emails to the dealers I'd be speaking to about new cars last night saying that I'd decided to go for the ex-demo one and thanking them for their help. Got emails and calls from both that they would try to get to nearer to the price on the one I'd decided to go for. Ended up staying with the ex demo as they got close but not enough, but it's nice to have had dealers who actually worked to try to sell me a car.

The way I see it they just hadn't done enough to get the price down the first time round, which really irritates me.

You'll probably also find they make more money on new sales than used, or both needed more new sales to make up their numbers for their bonus.

I agree they should have done better to start with but then its car dealers and how many times do you ever get the best out of them 1st or 2nd time through the loop ;) Just makes a change for them to come back and do something to try to win the business, past experience has been something along the lines of "thats all we can offer take it or leave it"...

I had a great experience with the dealer when looking for my M5, very helpful and didn't resist too much in the negotiations.

In contrast, I was in the Jag dealership recently pretty much ready to buy the XJ ss only to be sneered at and treated like a piece of crap by their sales *****.

I've never had any problems with the guys in Sytner Coventry, great service every time.

So i've applied for a job last week and had an interview yesterday, hoping to hear back from the employer, if I get the job, i'm gonna be in a position where i'm able to spend around the 10k mark.

I've really got a soft spot for these, PH 645

I just think they're lovely looking cars, and I bet the v8 would sound good with the top down, thing is I really don't know much about the 6 series.

Its that, or a E46 M3 cab, again don't know much about this car regarding what can go wrong, what essential things that need doing that will benefit the car.

I know what everyone will pick straight away.

But, its going to be a car that is my Daily, So it must be comfortable in my rush hour commute, but a lot of fun when i'm off work and want a nice drive out somewhere.

And i'm up for suggestions aswell, The easy answer would have been a 335i cab but they're just out my price range I believe.

Finally completed the running in of my cars engine over the weekend!

The straight 6 in the m135I is amazing. It just pulls without breaking a sweat. It's almost scary

The problem with M3 cabs and I mean ALL M3 cabs is that they are absolute tanks and totally inferior to the coupe version of the same car.
To give you an idea, An E46 M3 has the same power to weight as a E93 M3 Cab (give or take something like 2 hp) but being a lot lighter, just feels that much more a sports car.
The other thing is that the weight difference between a e93 cab and 92 is like 200kg, or in visual terms, 5 wheels and tyres with air....
The main reason i think this an issue with M's is just due to the high revving nature of the engines in them the cars feel a bit to heavy for the torque. Perhaps this makes the 645 better at its job. I.e lazy powerful convertible cruiser?

the E46 is still gonna be a quick car, coming from a 2l auto Accord to it is gonna feel miles better.

I'm dead set on a convertible as my next car, but its got to have 4+ seats, as I do tend to be the nominated driver among my mates.

Insurance for both the M3 and 645/50 are great for someone that's only 22, i'm looking for around a grand for the year.

As crazy as it sounds but i'm slightly leaning towards the 6, to me its less common car, and the aspect of a v8 is appealing, though there are other cars with better V8s.

That 645 is a generation ahead of the e46 which is always a bonus with car purchases, however an e46 M3 is an e46 M3 :D Such a connected driving experience and the grip is phenomenal. My friend bought an E46 M3 Conv a few months back, he's selling it tomorrow as it was not what he expected at all - I don't know whether it is that specific one he bought or the conv's in general, but I was quite bored with the way it moved which is a shame. The E36 conv however, loved every second of it... and I think that was only a 328 if I recall.

I'd say go with the 645... but obviously test both and see how you feel.

Took my car into Dealer today for the break fluid change, cant really complain for £60, with the added bonus of a wash and hoover and two cappachinos :)

Just before I dropped it off, I stopped outside a post office and tried going over a little bit of a high kurb, managed to rip off one of the lifting/ jack point mount's :( fortunately not as much damage as I thought and there only about £12 or so to buy and just clip into place from what I can see.

Hopefully i'll get a call in the next hour or two, i'll definately give them both a test drive.

I've had a go in a family friend's 335i Saloon a few times, its just phenomonal how quick that thing gets up to speed, and sounds fantastic, if I was willing to part with more money i'd get a 335i convertible in a heartbeat.

Just need to do some research on the 6 now, know what problems I could face with it, what stuff I could add to it to be make it better....Costs :(

Yeh i did that but i also damaged the skirt which i replaced with the M-Sport ones in the end. The jacking point does indeed just clip into place.

Am I the only one that thinks the new M3 is much better looking than the M4?

I'm actually considering an M4 at the moment and I'm waiting for the garage to get one in for a test drive.. I thought the M4 looked quite nice really, better than the M3. I was also thinking of getting it in yellow but after reading above I may go for the white.

Either way the final decision will be down to the test drive as the last time I drove an M3 I didn't like it, but that was 8 years ago so I hope it has improved since then.
